hoops scoops...jets fins...one last time for the ole gipper i guess

deflecting blame, the QB was the primary culprit. he had all day to throw, a decent run game(good against our run D) and how many throws did Ryan miss?

Wallace fell on the first pick but Milliner had excellent coverage, it would have been very difficult to complete that pass if Wallace stays on his feet anyway though he may not have been picked. That's football, in the first have Cro slipped a couple of different times which led to completed passes.

great TD, he fared well against the blitz but struggled when we dropped in coverage. 1 great Td is still worth the same amount of pts and 7 pts in 2 games(the 2 biggest games Miami has played in in a long time) isn't going to cut it.

that horse**** QB was by far the best QB on the field Sunday.

The bottom line is if Ryan played close rto his #s Miami is comfortably in the playoffs but his good #s fooled many into thinking he had arrived. he was holding you back w/ the exception of that NE game and his awful play the last 2 weeks cost you a playoff spot. That doesn't mean give up on him, he has the tools to be a successful QB in this league but he has a ton of work to do to become a good NFL QB.

and now i got to read this crap

---------- Post added at 01:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:16 PM ----------

he's not raw and he has had the luxury of not having to learn a new system as a QB since his college days. You are sitting home today b/c of the QB.

and this...

Miami needs to take a good look at drafting Kyle van Noy in the first round. Wheeler needs to be replaced.

Just a reminder.

Rex put Sanchez in fourth qtr to get perm hurt in meaningless preseason game.
Rex went to call time out to ice our kicker in first game and did not do it in time and was looking right at the clock. One of the stupidest things i have ever seen by a HC.

It was tweeted that some prognosticator said Tannehills knee was effecting his throws because he was not stepping into them. take it for what its worth. makes sense.

60 damn sacks about a quarter of which are on the qb and countless hits eventually effect things...i don't know if this is true or not but frankly i'm surprised he suited up all 16 games as much as he got hit...like a crash dummy all season

 the excuse train could start reaching Hennesque proportions at this rate. What was the other excuse I heard yesterday . . . "The reason why Ryan Tannehill can't hit the deep ball is because of Mike Wallace practicing at half speed. If throws off Ryan's timing when Wallace goes "full speed" in the game and he is unable to properly connect on the long ball".

you've never once heard anything like that from me...not once...but you guys also failed to respondto my explanations of all 3 picks vs the jets...which if you watch the game 100 times you will see are correct...

play calls in short yardage killed drives all season...the qb definitely missed most the vertical big play opportunities with wallace this year no doubt...needs to be cleaned up...but this team not being in the playoffs because of the qb is a joke...flat joke...

your oline your lb core is why you are sitting at home right now...this season is chalked up to one thing...personnel deficiencies in both units

Blaming the QB

Comon. There is one reason Miami is not in the playoffs this year and his name is Jeff Ireland.

It wasn't just the last two games, they couldn't run the ball on offense all year. They couldn't stop the run on defense all year.

These are serious personnel mishaps.

Tannehill is the reason Miami won as many games as it did.

If you expect a 2nd year QB who has only played QB for a couple of years to play terrific with no running game and getting sacked 60 times, IDK what to tell you.

thank you...had we run with matt moore you were looking at a 5 win football team with our issues...the qb overcame a lot this year...

i have read a certain poster who likes to get after me say that that first pick was an out route...it looked like a stop route predicated off the coverage being off early in the route if it was an out route then yes that ball was too far inside if it was a stop route then bs that ball is where it should be...would have made milliner go thru wallace to get the ball...the slip coming outof his break on the gear down caused that pick...basically the same ball wallace caught early in the game where milliner arrived and made the tackle immediately after the catch...no one complained about that one cause it was a catch and gain...

we have seen wallace catch those stop routes or even hartline on comebacks plenty this year with the coverage player closing from the backside fast but still catching the ball and being hit immediately...

ideally wallace comes back to the qb a step to keep the separation but he kinda waits on the ball...still the play was there to be made but the slip let the db get position to make a diving stab no less...

and if anyones got anything different well then by all means i am all ears

Stop with this nonsense. Geno Smith is garbage and will always be garbage. I might let him sell me a used car in a couple years though.

Tannehill deserves some of the blame for the last two games...absolutely. He didnt play well...at all. Was it all on him, no...but he deserves his fair share of criticism. However...if you are willing to give up on him and think he is "garbage"...then Im going to guess you either have blind hate for the kid or you have never actually played a down of football in your life.

We won 8 games in large part due to Tannehill. He almost doubled his touchdowns this year...thats an obvious improvement. His decision making was quicker...his command was better. He has ALOT to work on..no doubt but hes getting better.

Also this goes both ways...the people who think Tannehill do no wrong need to take off the blinders...he needs to get better. However, those who sit and think its all on him need to acknowledge the fact that our offensive coordinator is nearly Henning-esque and our O-line was statistically the worst we have ever witnessed in dolphins history.

A young Tom Brady my ass.

GET REAL!

That sounds like a direct quote from the 8 teams we managed to defeat this season.

Lol dude youre a joke, you flip flop your opinion more than anyone on this site. It's a tad ridiculous, all I can give you credit for being right about was David Garrard, otherwise you are just sounding more and more out of it by the day

I respect you Hoops. But Tannehill was awfulll vs the Jets. Awfull. My biggest problem was the feet first slide to leave a 4th down in a must win game. Not to mention missing Wallace on an easy 7 pts. I dont know if you lost a bet or you truly believe whats in your signature.

i truly believe...all the way...i have seen nothing to say anything different...if he hits half those verticals to wallace this year he's a 30 plus td qb in year 2...this boards funny

he was not awful...his worst play was the all the time in the world stand in the pocket and stay with mathews despite triple coverage to that side of the field too long and then throw it down the middle uncatchable...he should have worked to the other side of the field...honestly though he had so much time i think he got nervous cause he's so not used to it...like it put him in shock

as for the slide play look at it again it looks to me like hes past the line to gain when he starts but by sliding he makes it a judgement call...and you lose in those scenarios a lot...still i'm ok with what he did when that many defenders converge...had he stayed on his feet and fumbled on helmet to ball contact like he did vs the saints this board would have cried like girls...

the next play you call a qb sneak on 4th and a football instead of a fb dive with clay who everyone and thier mother is ready for now and the drive continues...same for mathews catches a crosser at the like 50 yard line on 3rd down with nothing but green grass in front of him that's a 30 yard gain and in scoring position...

the qbs maybe the best player on this team period...already

I like Tannehill but he was bad Sunday. Missed Hartline on that easy pump and go. The point is he has missed Wallace on at least 4 gimmes and the latest one turned the momentum in a must win game. We both know the Phins werent going anywhere anyway, but at some point he has to hit those.
