Hoops scoops…this front office and qb got to go!

Hoops I agree 💯, but here’s the thing if Grier would have drafted interior OL , it actually would have made a difference but like usual Grier doesn’t know how to draft or build a roster the right way.

Exactly. Every playoff team, or any team better then Miami all have 1 thing in common, a really good OL unit. Its super obvious.

I have one serious question for you.
When and where did you go to bootcamp?

I went to bootcamp at MCRD San Diego in the summer and fall of 1965.

About 6 months later I read an article in the San Diego newspaper about an internal military report concerning a fundamental difference between the physical preparedness of recruits from San Diego and recruits from Parris Island when they arrived in Viet Nam.

This could be the cause of some of your attitudes, if you went thru boot camp at Parris Island.
Yes sir, I went to boot camp in Parris Island, but you have a few years on me, but it was a rough environment to say the least, The goal was obviously to break you down by any means necessary and they did what they could to achieve this mentally and physically. I almost had my thumbs broken, shaving cream poured on my head, I saw recruits being strangled with belts, one drill instructor knocked a recruit out and was re-assigned. You never got a sound night's sleep because they would roust you in the middle of the night, take you outside and make you "dig" in the sand pits.

I had heard that SD was much easier and hence the moniker "Hollywood Marines". I came out with 20 lbs. of muscle and a bad attitude, my first wife, from whom I am divorced from said I was never the same and honestly, I don't talk much about it. I feel like I did get discipline out of it, past that? That could be some of it, but I think we as a society have gotten softer to, as I see it in the generations that work in the same factory, I came up in. Crazy, I never noticed your badge I am usually pretty observant on that, good stuff, take care brother.

What might take you 10 minutes to compose might take others two to three minutes to do. 😂.

Your hate for Tua is noted. All good. 🍻
I don't hate Tua ...He is just not the player the team needs @Qb ... because, despite his ability to stack stats, he isn't durable, nor can he make plays off script.
As a fan of the team ... this is important to me.

I don't get emotionally attached to people I read about or watch on TV.

I could throw down random bullsh*t texts that come to mind, even insulting them at the drop of a hat, but I try to be as objective as possible for as long as I can. But attacking other posters without addressing the subject is nonsense, IMO.

Okay which actions are soft when related to football?
Look, I'm not qualified to answer that question. I see a soft personality, and in my opinion, that personality type isn't the image of an NFL HC.

I wont disagree with anything really at this point

But is there anything or anyone on the team you currently do like or see some potential in?? I think McDaniel seems like a good coach, but you dont?

Hey Travis long time no see. Hope all things are well with you.

I tbink chop has potential to help us in a couple years looks largely like a twist and stunt production sack wise guy to me right now needs to be better at the poa in the run game which is expected. I saw a good power rush against the left tackle in this last game and a couple nice redirect plays in space and range to make tackles or get in on a few things from him. He’s just very raw right now. Probably more suited for situational rusher out the gate. First game he was completely swallowed up by the left tackle.

I like cam smiths length and frame on the boundary. Remains to be seen if I like his game or not but to me right now I’d say he’d be my 3rd boundary when he returns.

I like that Ramsey is following the biggest threat on the field should have been doing that all along since he got here.

Long carries the off ball lb level we’d be in a world of trouble without him. I’d like to see him resigned on a 2 year pact. I’d like to see Miami play Anthony Walker more paired with long. I have concerns about brooks that he may end up the worst contract on the team. Inconsistent play concerns. Plays he should make not being made.

Someone said it already it’s early but poyer does look washed.

not getting the same level production yet from seiler but it’s early. I feel like if something happened to him or Campbell this interior dline would be a mess.

There’s no way I’d play Paul this year he oversets bad and can’t redirect back inside quickly and he’s very susceptible to redirect inside rush moves right now. I’d have to lose armstead and lamm and be forced into playing him right now. He needs a redshirt. You do him a favor when you try to go thru him. Once he starts cheating to take away that inside he’s gonna open the door to run the arc speed rush and gain the shoulder. I’m just not impressed at all as a tackle there feels like he’s gonna be a left guard type and serviceable at best there to me. Overdrafted.

Achane has shown versatility that I didn’t know Miami would employ and wanted them to last year behind the Los. But the usage is way too much and he’s taking too much contact already. That’s just dumb by mcd frankly.

Holland has provided more play making to date this year. Not sure why his captaincy was taken probably cause of the arrival of Calais campbell.

That’s about what I have right now. Would rather see Dubose than any of the other guys not named Washington or ekuzanma as the 3rd or 4th wr til obj returns (correction if obj returns but I seriously don’t like the obj signing he’s a me guy and imo bad for the lockerroom) but with this qb current situation and outlook I guess it don’t matter much anyways.

Jaelen philips looked overmatched by tight ends even in this last game. Which can’t happen. He probably needs to remain on a pitch count coming back from his achilles. His rush arsenal still remains raw and his game is mostly freak athlete stuff still. But I’d be weary of overuse and him wearing down right now and possible injury.

Quinton bell i don’t see anything there. I heard the camp hype and that’s all it looks like to me. Hype.

I’d like to see Connor get some run at tight end but with Jonnu healthy probably won’t happen. Connor is a very good athlete but his football iq may be maxed out.

Not impressed with Julian hill at all. Why Miami kept that over the kid we had last year and cut and zona picked up on waivers from us at final cuts I have no idea. Elijah Higgins. He’s playing and making plays for the cardinals right now. Personnel evaluation failure by the front office.

If cam smith doesn’t step up his game this year im probably looking for a nickel/slot option upgrade as kohou is showing me more he plays more he belongs as a 4th corner type upside.

Bonner probably more a 5th.

I’m not gonna roast the dc yet but the run defense has been a major red flag.

Ray R and Cheetah, thx for your service!

Fair enough, I don't see it.

McDaniel's personality isn't in the mold of Dan Campbell, Bill Cohwer, etc, a scream in your face.

I don't think it means soft when someone doesn't have that type of personality.

I also don't think you need that to be a NFL head coach.

But the team has to win or it doesn't matter what the coach's personality is.

doing alright overall, glad to see you pop in!

That was the general feeling at the time.

The information the San Diego paper had referenced indicated that the recruits from San Diego were more fit than the ones coming from Parris Island. The cause was suspected to be that the recruits from PI had been worn out by excessive exertion. - No Joke!

One thing I realized going thru boot camp was that whoever set it up understood psychology and physical training very well! - LOL

I went in, not as a "2A", but as a "4Y" because I failed the physical. I had heard about "4F's" but never a word about "4Y's". It turns out that was a common rating in southern California among the suffers. They developed big bunions on the top of their feet by surfing while on their knees with the top of their feet pressing against the surfboard, causing these big bunions to form. those bunions made it difficult to wear boots with shoestrings.

I went into boot camp at 149 pounds with 23" thighs and 17" calves, due to my congenitally week feet. I was 5' 11" tall and had almost no chest muscle.

I came out at 170 pounds without any change in my body proportions. My muscles just got denser - not bigger. I'm sure there is a joke in their somewhere. - LOL

Sure. The QB who led the league in passer rating was just along for the ride.
Tanny had a great year or two there. Bonafide stud type years. He took over for Mariota and saved their season that first year. He fit in nicely there. Beat NE in a playoff game. Almost got to a SB / lost the title game to KC. He’s not the same guy anymore but I’d love to sign him as he could help us win here w this roster we have.

Lol, I was 140 lbs. on a 5"10 frame and came out 160-165 lbs. believe it or not I actually played HS football and could bench 225 when I went in, not bad for the early 80's, I feel like I have grown a whole person since then, up to 235, still lifting weights and watching what I eat or it would get worse, metabolism is not your friend as you get older.

I do think he coddles the players too much. It’s too “fun” - at least that’s the perception. None of us are actually there. It’s just a sense I get from a combo of Hard Knocks, players taking plays off, not making the vets practice much this year, extending old guys when we didn’t need to etc. Not sure if that’s “soft” but concerning to me whatever it is.

yeah it's about that middle ground or happy medium. Flores was not the answer either, he was toxic and a dbag. So somewhere between mike and flores seems might be the good balance
