Hoops scoops…this front office and qb got to go!

For Tannehill to have led this team to the promised land, with the rosters he shared the field with (not to mention the coaching staffs), he'd have had to have been the 2nd coming of Dan Marino.

We had our legendary, truly generational QB, and the organization wasted his amazing career...I wonder how many years have to pass for the football gods to believe we deserve another one.
who was this legendary generational qb? I have not seen one qb since marino we had that could take over a game.

“Guess who’s back…back again…guess who’s back…tell a friend”

Someone needs to come in here and tell it like it is…and well I’m just that person. As usual if you don’t like it I don’t care.

This franchise now has the longest non playoff win drought in the nfl. Who has been in the building for the duration of that drought I ask you? Why none other than chris me and my brother should probably switch sports Grier.

All he’s done since he became the gm is pass accountability to others. Hemorrhage money on bad contracts and fail in the draft to maximize the return pick asset wise on a yearly basis in the draft.

Now we are stuck with the worst qb contract in football and don’t kid yourself it’s the worst on a guy who may well down the road die even on the field. Instead of forcing Tua to play on tbat 5th year option we gave top money to a qb who while a great person and heck I’d even be proud to have him marry my daughter even which speaks to his character is now has finished 2 of his first 4 years out for the season and likely will finish his 5th year the same way. In addition this qb has fenced twice already on the field and has his head bounce off the turf on a pretty much weekly basis in some form or another. Weight gain weight loss fat as a deer tick tua or weight watchers tua it doesn’t matter. This same qb is now 1- whatever vs the bills and we as a team are now 1-12 in our last 13 vs the bills. We aren’t competition for Buffalo or rivals we are camp fodder like the 3 qbs we have in the building now behind tua. We are buffalos bitch!!!

And now you want to make me watch skylar Thompson butcher the position? Why not just take a hot poker to my eyes instead. Tyler Huntley, Tim Boyle? 🤮

In addition this qb tua has played sub standard ball and replace me level ball even down the stretch in each of the seasons he actually has finished. That int into 2 deep coverage vs Buffalo where the safety post snap had the leverage and the route was into the leverage week 18 with everything on the line by tua was more matt moore than franchise qb stuff. It was one of the worst pre to post snap decisions ive ever seen and I broke down qb tape for years.

Miami has no Josh Allen offset I screamed for years about the need for it especially when this qb tua isn’t in an offense that features qb process and is basically very qb friendly but not much qb freedom which is what McDaniel has brought to Miami.

Miami needs to pray that Tua is cleared and retired cause otherwise this contracr will be an albatross for the next half decade with this team and stuck with a qb and offensive system that to this day I still can’t say what level processer he is which was suppose to carry him in the pros. I’ll say the sniffs I have gotten haven’t lead me to believe he should have more on his plate. Given that he’s a system qb in a system that many qbs could run. Just minus the athletic ability that many qbs possess to make teams have to prepare for 2 way threat qbs.

Im sorry Tua but do the team a favor and retire. Take your $47 mil and walk. You weee never getting us over the hump with Josh Allen anyways. The juice isn’t worth the squeeze any more.

Back to the gm. Do I really want to to give this clown another bite at the qb draft apple? Yikes.

Let’s see. Raekwon Davis non existent 2nd round pick gone under your watch. Traded Laremy Tunsil for a slew of picks in a move to get in position for a qb that qb thing has failed. Yeah sure the numbers are there but this teams record vs playoff caliber teams is a joke and shows how much of a pretender we are. They are largely empty numbers.

Liam eichenberg stinks anywhere you put him 2nd round pick fail. Should have cut that years ago instead we start him. Belongs in the ufl.

Tagged Mike gesicki and his 1 catch for 8 yard average paying him north of $10 mil that year when anyone with an ounce of clue knew that we should have let him walk. Addition by subtraction. 2nd round pick fail.

Drafted a position less player in round 3 in the I guess lb Channing tindall. Dudes not even active in year 3 fail. And these are just off the top of my head.

This gms record on day 2 of the draft is a joke. The round one record is not maximizing return either. Yeah we traded out from 3 to 6 and then 12 and everyone tbinks we cleaned house. Well guess out you missed out on better players everywhere along the way. The best draft in maybe my entire scouting career and while you did good you could have done better. That draft has hall of famers written all over it already.

Let’s talk about extending guys when we didn’t need to. Mcd falls in on this too I’m sure. Kicker extension a year early. Fullback who was out of the league the year prior ingold pulls down 3 and 17 mil for what when we control him at least another year. All of these while we controlled them another year or more.

Making Ramsey the highest paid corner when you still control him. Making reek and his off the field never ending concerns a highest paid wr when you control him.

This interior oline which is probably the worst unit in the entire league. A 290 lb center that is owed 5 mil next year regardless if he’s here or not. Sure mcds scheme helps the oline and your banking on it with your smug comments about everyone is worried about the oline but us well how’d that look to you when Buffalo went into a 2 deep shell and you couldn’t run the damn ball situationally despite it? Why? Cause your interior oline sucks.

Get used to it cause one thing I know is this is a copy cat league and they know your interior oline blows. Gonna see a lot of coverage over your 2 Smurf WRs coming. With no offset to be found other than achane who at 188 lbs is being used like Adrian Peterson or something by this dumb head coach.

Speaking of the head coach burns timeouts like my grandpa burns cigarettes. Must be taking hits off his vape when it’s time to get plays in. Wanted Jonnu smith and obj like those 2 clown adds would get this team over the Buffalo bump. Jonnu has always been system based production and obj cares more about his instagram than football these days and will complain to no end if and when he does come back when he isn’t being fed the ball when he’s the backside progression in an offense that doesn’t ask the qb to get to the backside very often. An offense where 80 percent of the primary’s are open by design. Another reason 14 ints by the qb is way way too many. But I digress. This same head coach saved waddle from the week 18 must win home game for the kc playoff where the qb couldn’t execute lateral throws behind the los in those elements let alone anytbing down the damn field. Duke Riley in that game avoided even 2 hand touch and yet he’s still on this roster. Embarrassing. Wonder if you wore them capri pants to that one?

Let’s talk about this last draft if that didn’t scream to you I’m safe as a gm and head coach nothing does. First 2 day picks on projects and a trade for a 4th rb lol. Job well done Grier. Your 2nd round pick Paul has the redirect and short area quickness of an aircraft carrier he already looks more destined to be kicked inside to left guard down the road than to even make it as the active swing 3rd tackle. Fail. Don’t know why I’m surprised these dudes can’t evaluate oline play if their lives depended on it.

We got the smallest skill group in the league smallest catch radius in the league 3rd and 4th WRs feature Robbie I would t choose you in flag chosen alright and berrios who has zero value as a wr option.

This team has failed to get what it needs for the last 2 years more than anything with this size skill a true flex difference maker at the tight end spot. And sure enough when exactly what we need comes along to pair with all this Smurf skill in Brock bowers and he gets out of the top 10 this clown gm is sitting on his hands and clueless. Same for the head coach who should never wear them gold glasses on the sideline again. Go back to the nerd look you will be a vaping oc career guy at the rate you are going in no time.

Which leads me to the owner the corpse who allows these things to continuously happen. To have his money continuously hemorrhaged over and over on bad contracts and bad draft picks and asset and personnel mismanagement. I feel bad for ya Ross but you are being fed a bunch of bs by these folks you appointed. Hold someone accountable step up and force change. Come out and say win or else I don’t care about attrition or any of that you guys built it and you will walk the plank of it doesn’t win. Period. But no I’m fully convinced this front office as a whole is content with being a fringe playoff team and never winning anything if they don’t win the division and get home playoff games. It’s our only chance under this style offense and qb combo and head coach combo. How else can you allow this gm and head coach to come on end of year after yet another fall off the table season and raping at kc no less and drop a smug presser and laughing and joking about it like they don’t have a care in the world.

Do better Ross. Or pass away and let someone else try.

Hoops out ✌️
Little over dramatic for me.

I don't think he is a good HC. But I am curious why you think he is. What qualities are you basing that on? I am not attacking your opinion, I am genuinely curious why some think of him as a good HC.

Some of the reasons I don't think he is a good HC:
  1. He is still slow getting plays in
  2. His clock management is terrible and he hasn't displayed an ability of calling a hurry-up offense
  3. He fails to make in-game adjustments to take what defenses are giving
  4. His character is less than for a leader of men - he is soft and the team has taken on that persona

1 and 2 have to improve.
3 you could argue he took too much of what the defense was giving vs Jax. Some fans were calling for him to have an offense that dictates to the defense. Only thing that "cures" this in the fans opinion is winning.
4 I don't agree with at at all. What about him is soft?

Very well said. The failures of this team start at the top and infect every level.

100% accurate unfortunately! Starts with Ross’ inability to clean house. There have been so many times where Ross should have fired everyone but Grier remains.

Now our team is a season or 2 away from a reset. Tua, great kid but the NFL is a violent sport, this will happen again. Waddle and Hill, while they can be fun to watch, they aren’t winning us championships. Everyone thought KC was done when they traded Hill but they won 2 SBs after him. Now, they do have the help of the Refs but. Our offense was become the problem. Only reason it was 1st last year was due to the beginning of the season. Teams quickly figured out our offense.

who was this legendary generational qb? I have not seen one qb since marino we had that could take over a game.
Well, there was Fitz for a short time.. Problem was he could take a game over in the wrong way too.

My issue with Chris Grier dates back to the 2020 and 2021 drafts. We had 5 1st round picks, 4 2nd round picks and 3-4 seasons later zero All-Pro level players. Beyond that, both of those drafts had excellent OL, WR and EDGE players. Somehow we still needed to trade the farm for Hill, trade a 1st and more for Chubb and give a large contract to an injury prone LT when McDaniel took over.
Actually, it was worse than that. They started with a total of 10 first and second round picks in those two drafts, but Grier traded one away and ended up with 9.

So glad to know the site is littered with so many messiahs. Can’t have enough of those.

Am not going to waste 2 minutes reading a 10,000 word essay on nothingness.

Life is too short to waste on complaining. Enjoy your life sir. It’s just a game.
I don't think it takes a "Messiah" to see what is put right in front of our faces and this is a "fan" site, fan from the word "fanatic", meaning we all care quite a bit about this franchise, so to say it is just a game while technically right, doesn't play here. I have no clue how old you are but I am 59 and have not watched good football from this franchise in quite some time, honestly the last time I was really excited was when Jimmy Johnson was named coach and that failed. I mean that is quite some time to watch mediocre football, bad coaching hires, bad QB play, it has been just bad, I mean even a blind squirrel finds a nut, I have watched expansion franchises have more success, I have watched the Lions, Bears, Browns, Bengals and other cheap, crap organizations have more success, Hell I now have to watch the Texans, a team we fleeced and laughed at have a better team.

When will we ever get back? Be like the teams I watched when I was younger? I feel sorry for the guys that come on here that haven't at least seen signs of excellence that I have, Hell I respect the younger guys that get mocked on here because I have at least gone to games, watched games, that actually mattered. Sorry, I am going through some **** and usually I can enjoy football season but we are in week 2 and after all of the hype we already know how this movie ends.

hoops always has good points and I respect his football knowledge. But his Qb tannehill didn't help exactly with our 24 year playoff win drought.

didn't say that. but there are a lot of reasons we have a 24 year old playoff win drought
one reason is not making the playoffs many times except for the last two years. Tannehill was part of that.
While Tannehill was far from elite, I thought he was decent. IMO, the majority of Tannehill's failures were because of Philbin. Miami's o-line wasn't bad under Sparano, but Philbin took those same guys and made their performance a lot worse, even with 3 first round picks on the line, when he introduced his finesse blocking schemes. During his first four seasons, Tannehill was sacked more than any other QB. Did he sometimes hold the ball too long? Yes, but I believe most of those sacks were on the o-line. He sure did better in Tennessee with a decent o-line and running game, earning the Top Seed not too long ago.

Also, Ryan looked pretty good when he was able to roll out and throw downfield on the run, but Philbin rarely had him do that. And, although Mike Wallace made plays, it didn't help that he had "alligator arms" and a tiny catch radius. IOW, sure, he's no Mahomes, but Tannehill showed that he can help win games when he has a better offense supporting him. That said, I will admit that his play wasn't as great the past year or two.

Actually, it was worse than that. They started with a total of 10 first and second round picks in those two drafts, but Grier traded one away and ended up with 9.

During all those pick somehow we ended up with a smurf village.

We have a lot of issues as pointed out but the smallest skill group and catch radius really gets me.

We have no redzone package of plays. Its screens and runs. We should have had a high point big play wr or te in this offense. We are extremely limited.
This has killed me.

1. Why can Greir get anyone with size. We have Hill and Waddle. Lets sign Braxton B. Even the hurt OBJ is 5'11. Drafted multiple small guys.

2. Why f does McDaniel then force a fades in the EZ. It is like well the AI/analytics call for a fade here. How many times did we try that with Hill? It worked like one time in the first game and took a perfect pass and inch over the defense.

I know its early on in the season, but do any of these college qb's intrigue you @hoops ??

Or just ride it out and hope to tank it all again for Manning lol

Thank You, I forgot about the Jets, I just don't see McDaniel like some do, for a smart guy he never makes adjustments. He will not tailor an offense to suit the QB in front of him. I sit there and watch LaFleur win with a QB that was signed a week before while we have had Thompson in this system for two years.

I see a Capri wearing, country club having atmosphere and kissing of players, load management, players just coming out of games on key drives (Armstead, Waddle, Hill) and that shows me and tells me that he does not have a tough enough mindset to turn this team into a physical team. We were closer to that with Flores but he wasn't the answer either, this coach may be "loved" by his players but that is because he is soft as Hell.
It's a fair point. This team makes a lot of mistakes and isn't disciplined enough IMO. That falls to the coaching staff.

Year one with McDaniel, I think you look the other way a little bit become he was successful in other areas.

Year two, I thought there was improvement, but still a problem.

Let's see what this year brings, but it's a legitimate concern.
