Hoops scoops...why the jarvis landry offensive emphasis isnt a good thing

This offensive scheme is basically 2015's version of the Wildcat. It worked for us in year 1 and year 2 was not that great and now it's almost extinct. We have the tools for this offense to be really good, o-line aside. It can be fixed, maybe not by this FO, but it's not impossible. We just need a couple of lineman and a new coaches with a good proven offense.

I can answer that...tom bradys not living in 3rd and 8 plus

Hey Hooshoops, maybe you can help me out with something. It seems we are ALWAYS 3rd and 10. I've tried to find on the internet some stats: teams leading the league on 3rd and long (I guess maybe 8 yards+). I really think this speaks to the struggles of the offense. It seems like we always put our team in a bad situation. Can you or anyone else find that stat anywhere???

I love our WR core. I think if used correctly our need at TE is a non issue. If we do fix or properly use Camaron we have a rotation that could rival the best out there. The biggest problem is time to get to the second/third read, and getting down field. Line play, play calling and RT all need to improve next year. I want to see more 2nd and 5 and 3rd and 2 next year. If we can get there we average 24 pts a game.

Hoping one day Parker is the one the offense revolves around, with Landry being deadly and "forgotten about" in the slot

Agree, Travis.

Does everyone remember that Parker is a rookie (yes, I know he's was our 1st-rounder) and that he was injured for the first 2/3 of the season? He also didn't control where he was drafted, so please give the kid a break. Not every rookie, nor every 1st-rounder for that matter, turns out to be an elite player right away (certainly there are exceptions, but it's not the rule). If the last four or so games were any indication, I think Parker has a very bright future, as evidenced by some of the plays he made when he DID make it on the field.

Of course, there are those who would have rather rushed him back if he had a persistent, ailing foot problem, where he could have re-aggravated the foot setting him back further, or they would simply deem him as "injury-prone" and label him an immediate bust.

I think our young receiving corps of Parker, Stills, Landry and whichever receiving tight end we can keep in the fold (Cameron or other) looks promising. We just need a good solid scheme, good pass protection, and give RT the legitimate chance to gel with them without fear of landing on his back every play.

There is so much lack of creativity in our offense it makes me wonder what is going on. What happened to the read option? Why not use split backs with Miller and Ajayi and send them wide? Why are we using route trees several yards short of the sticks? Why don't we go with more 3-5 step drops and get the ball out of the pocket quicker? Why can't our QB audible protection and plays? And on and on.

This.

This lack of "vision" got our OC fired. Problem is, we didn't even have and OC for the remainder of the season after that.
