Hoops scoops...why the jarvis landry offensive emphasis isnt a good thing

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the hypothetical obvious? If Parker blossoms and becomes the true #1 WR then Landry is no longer the focal point.

Simple? Yes?

p.s. If I were the next OC (its probably best that I'm not :chuckle:); my scheme would be 85% what the Redskins used in Gibbs' 1st tenure & 15% Inside Zone Read.

Hoping one day Parker is the one the offense revolves around, with Landry being deadly and "forgotten about" in the slot
 
Landry had a great year but I am not celebrating anymore than that. His accomplishments are indicative of why this offense failed this year. A good portion of his receptions should have went to Lamar Miller rushes.
 
Eagles just fired chip kelly so there goes all these figured out concepts in the nfl

Some people appreciate the efforts others put into the forum even if they may not always agree with the persons point of view, so you post something like this to discourage that? Why not just leave the thread if its not to your liking?
 
There is so much lack of creativity in our offense it makes me wonder what is going on. What happened to the read option? Why not use split backs with Miller and Ajayi and send them wide? Why are we using route trees several yards short of the sticks? Why don't we go with more 3-5 step drops and get the ball out of the pocket quicker? Why can't our QB audible protection and plays? And on and on.

Totally agree. Let's stop tearing down original content. If you don't agree just ignore it.

You'do have thought when the Broncos used that strategy against the Fins last year Lazor would have incorporated it into the offense, nope.

That's what's so frustrating about the offense. They just didn't adapt to hide their own weaknesses or attack the defenses.
 
As I've posted before, I think we throw too much at slot receiver Jarvis Landry.

Looking at our WRs..

- Jarvis Landry: 104 catches, 10.4 yds per catch

- Rishard Matthews: 43 catches, 15.4 yds per catch

- Kenny Stills: 26 catches, 16.5 yds per catch

- DeVante Parker: 21 catches, 18.5 yds per catch

Even if you consider Matthews & Parker to be one WR (because of Matthew's injury), Jarvis Landry has more catches than our next 3 WRs (Matthews, Stills, Parker) combined.

And since Landry is operating out of the slot, it's no surprise that he has a low yds/catch.

Spreading the ball a bit more to our outside WRs (Matthews, Stills, Parker) could help stretch out defenses, and make our offense less predictable.
