A friend of mine who is connected to the Dolphins just returned from the Buffalo game. They brought me some Dolphin gear and the autographs of Ryan Tannehill and John Offerdahl. I can't give you their name, but if I did you could Google it and see their connection.

This person, and others connected to the Dolphins, got to meet Philbin, Ireland and others, go into the coaches offices, the owner's suite, etc. They said that they all put on a good front talking about how much they have improved, etc (Like business people trying to sell you a product). But it was obvious that all was not well. They said Ross is cordial but obviously "frustrated" with the team. They very much believe that unless they come up with a winning season, Ross will can everyone and start over. That was the atmosphere.

They said the trade for McKinney was 2 weeks too late and an act of desperation as McKinney is old and hurt.

The game against NE will tell us a lot - my friend thinks Miami has no chance, because the coaches won't change anything to fix the problems - especially with the o-line.

This is not my opinion of the team, although I agree with much of it. Just telling you what this person is seeing from the inside of the organization.

Make the call Ross....

If what you say is true, and your friend is right, then as badly as i wanna see the Dolphins get back to winning football...perhaps a house cleaning is needed to get us back to winning football...as long as the right people are put in charge.

Well if the trade for McKinnie is 2 weeks too late then the firing of Ireland is 2 years too late

That's the problem. It's just been garbage in and garbage out with this team for far too long.

Yeah maybe we could fire everyone and bring in a great coach like that guy winning all those championships at Alabama, and I hear Parcells isn't doing nothing these days.

Be careful what you ask for, change for the sake of change will mean another 1-3 years of trying to get new guys to fit a new system. On the bright side we should have a lot to be excited for in the off season. We will be picking in the top 10 for the next 2-3 years.

So just because somebody "got to meet Philbin" and take a tour of all that stuff, it makes them qualified to say that? Sorry, not buying into this at all.

Um, maybe they got a tour that I didn't, (as I missed the dinner Friday night with philbin) but I did get to see jeff, john, and a tour on Saturday, and I didn't quite get the idea your friend got from the tour. It'd be nice if your friend stated some facts about what was and wasn't said instead of injecting a bit of opinion into it.

I would like a new GM and new offensive system. We have some good pieces in place and our cap situation is good. A quality GM could move things along quickly as long as we try to run a legitimate NFL offense and not some BIG 12 garbage we are trying right now. Hopefully Philbin is receptive to a more physical approach to offense with two tight end sets and having Tannehill under center.

You're right... why change when you haven't won a playoff game in over a decade and are staring at a FIFTH consecutive losing season with the same GM.

Maybe they can get D Jackson for Wallace before they clean up.

Ireland can send more scouts to the CFL now only to look for Oline

Well who knows depending on who u are, that was the year that Parcells had final say according to some so Ireland gets no credit for that.
To be truthful you could scout Canada all you want but overall its not a hotbed of talent. A player or two a year is about all you can get , I think we need to step up our college scouting lol
