House Cleaning Coming?

A week from now when we are most likely 3-5, the concept of Ireland getting fired will start to make sense to the die hard Ireland apologists.
Looking at the schedule after Cincinnati, I see maybe 3 more wins considering how the team has played the last 3 weeks.
Ireland set this team up for failure by not addressing the oline and releasing Jake long and not bringing in a quality replacement.
This time around Ireland will finally get the boot. I believe that the new GM will come from GB or another WCO oriented team.
I believe that Philbin, Coyle and Shermin will get another 2 years with a new GM.
Mr Ross, give us a new GM. give the fans some optimism.

I would like a new GM and new offensive system. We have some good pieces in place and our cap situation is good. A quality GM could move things along quickly as long as we try to run a legitimate NFL offense and not some BIG 12 garbage we are trying right now. Hopefully Philbin is receptive to a more physical approach to offense with two tight end sets and having Tannehill under center.

I don't think that Philbin will change his system.

A friend of mine who is connected to the Dolphins just returned from the Buffalo game. They brought me some Dolphin gear and the autographs of Ryan Tannehill and John Offerdahl. I can't give you their name, but if I did you could Google it and see their connection.

This person, and others connected to the Dolphins, got to meet Philbin, Ireland and others, go into the coaches offices, the owner's suite, etc. They said that they all put on a good front talking about how much they have improved, etc (Like business people trying to sell you a product). But it was obvious that all was not well. They said Ross is cordial but obviously "frustrated" with the team. They very much believe that unless they come up with a winning season, Ross will can everyone and start over. That was the atmosphere.

They said the trade for McKinney was 2 weeks too late and an act of desperation as McKinney is old and hurt.

The game against NE will tell us a lot - my friend thinks Miami has no chance, because the coaches won't change anything to fix the problems - especially with the o-line.

This is not my opinion of the team, although I agree with much of it. Just telling you what this person is seeing from the inside of the organization.

I understand this is not your opinion, but it is little more than the opinion of a passive observer who isn't connected with the inner-workings of the competitive aspect of the team. It's the equivalent of a low-level functionary at FedEx meeting the CEO and COO in a public toilet after their stock drops 10-points and pretending you can divine what 2 strangers are thinking. It's absurd. In reality it's not even that. It's the hearsay of a person's superficial impressions. Your friend probably didn't need a meeting with any of these men to detect concern with them. That would be common sense. And certainly there is no way that Stephen Ross could be satisfied with what he's seeing. I've defended the present regime against the merchants of overreaction in the past, but it's downright disconcerting when they lose to a bad team quarterbacked by a third-stringer with no experience, at home, coming off a bye. That's actually alarming. Everyone in that building should be alarmed. The coaches and GM should be alarmed for their continuing employment prospects. The players should be concerned for their very careers. And the owner should be concerned about his investment and his public reputation, which takes a battering every time they show an overhead view of a half-empty stadium.

Well who knows depending on who u are, that was the year that Parcells had final say according to some so Ireland gets no credit for that.
To be truthful you could scout Canada all you want but overall its not a hotbed of talent. A player or two a year is about all you can get , I think we need to step up our college scouting lol

The CFL is no place to find Olinemen that's for sure but years ago LT Dixon came from the BC Lions

Jeff Fuller lit up the CFL this late afternoon... LOL

The CFL should be scouted because there are good players everywhere but overall the talent of the CFL trails every major college conference

True, and perhaps Jeff Ireland has reacted to the "alarm" by trading for Bryant McKinnie so as to divert Stephen Ross's attention from the fact that the QB his franchise's fate is hinging on isn't cutting the mustard.

If you can fool the owner into believing the problem is the offensive line and not the QB whose inability to pan out would surely mean the end of Jeff Ireland, then perhaps you can buy yourself enough time for things to turn around.

Well this conspiracy would also involve the coach deciding that Martin moves back to RT. Obviously the staff thnks the Oline is an issue because they just changed out two starting spots on oline. Ireland is not choosing starting lineups for us Im pretty damn sure

well if they knew this , and didnt make a trade back during the bye week , its on Ireland , i would have made an offer to either Carolina or Tenn for either Roos or Gross , that they couldnt turn down , say maybe a 3rd rd for either and maybe a player or something but i would have gotten something done besides just Mckinnie , i can tell you this much , if i knew i was on the Hot seat you can beat that some kind of trade would have went through , because other than our offence line we are in decent shape as far as WR TE CB and Defence line were good enough to contend , its just hard to do on your back like Tannehill has been almost every game so far , and if we dont make the playoffs this year I WOULD CLEAN HOUSE, BOTTOM LINE .

My 3rd cousin on my mother's side of the family has a friend that works with a guy that knows somebody and I think he said the same thing.

What kind of fool would leave their franchise QB unprotected when they are coaching for their jobs...

Um, maybe they got a tour that I didn't, (as I missed the dinner Friday night with philbin) but I did get to see jeff, john, and a tour on Saturday, and I didn't quite get the idea your friend got from the tour. It'd be nice if your friend stated some facts about what was and wasn't said instead of injecting a bit of opinion into it.

Of course, it is his opinion. I said it was. And so is yours, unless Mr. Ross directly told you this would not happen. Your facts are no greater than his. Everyone has an opinion and he was expressing his from what he observed. Time will tell whose opinion was closer to the truth.

Yeah maybe we could fire everyone and bring in a great coach like that guy winning all those championships at Alabama, and I hear Parcells isn't doing nothing these days.

Be careful what you ask for, change for the sake of change will mean another 1-3 years of trying to get new guys to fit a new system. On the bright side we should have a lot to be excited for in the off season. We will be picking in the top 10 for the next 2-3 years.

In the first paragraph, you sarcastically imply that we shouldn't change the coaching staff. In the second paragraph, you predict that we're going to be in the bottom third for the next 2-3 years. So you're saying that we should keep the coaching staff that's going to keep us in the cellar for the next 2-3 years. Why would you want us to do that?

That is what I have been saying! people have absolutely no patience whatsoever and want instant gratification sorry, but come to the dance with the girl who brung ya! All they can do is try and make it work with what they have.

I think 5 years is long enough to judge the GM....
