How big of a steal is Jarvis Landry becoming?

The way he broke tackles near the side line impressed me. Didn't run like a 4.5 or was it 4.7?

Hickey prefers guys who are, as yopu mentioned "football players". he would never take a Ted Ginn track star scrub that high.
I am a big fan of that strategy, too many put too much stock in to what guys do in their underwear on turn for some scouts.

I will say that Hickey has proven he won't be afraid to take a player that they didn't get to know a lot. Landry even admitted that the draft call was only the 2nd time the Fins had talked to him (the first was actually a little before we drafted him to make sure we had his number... probably a good idea since Jeff Ireland went to call Dion Jordan last year and called EJ Manuel).

But as others have said I don't know if it's as much of a steal as it is that we really haven't had a good second round pick in awhile (though I do think Jamar Taylor will improve), and we haven't had a WR with this style of play in awhile either. But at the same time, you can argue he is a steal because many had him as the better WR between him and Beckham but dropped him after the bad 40.

If I had to choose between reaching for a "football player" and taking value on measurables I would reach for the football player every day and twice on Sundays.

.

First time hearing that, must have been an awkward moment.

He's not a steal...he's just a pick that is actually working out for once. People around here are so used to busts, they now consider picks that work out as "steals"....jeesh...

I made a thread on draft night that we just drafted the combination of OJ McDuffie and Anquan Boldin. I watched every single game Jarvis played in his collegiate career. People got too hung up on the combine 40 time.

how many assholes can post "a 2nd round pick is not a steal" instead of reading the same opinion and just thanking that guy?

thanks "draft expert", we get it

everybody looks at the draft position, after x years of ****ty drafts just consider a great player PICKED AT ANY POSITION A STEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lets be real here, nobody had their eyes on this guy for us to pick. Sure, people knew of him and the player he was. But not even the media talked about him. I mean, when we drafted him I immediately had to start looking up stuff.

He was completely on nobody's radar for us to pick.

or for anyone else to pick as far as I could tell.
