Didnt he suck in Cleveland? And now he is the new Media goldenboy!

What happened? (Other than the Superbowl.)

He never was a bad coach, Cleveland was his first HC job and he had no talent. He was a very highly regarded defensive co-ordinator, much like DW but Wanny doesn't have a ring and won't have a job if we don't go a least 2 deep into the playoffs. I wish we had Bellycheck!
His guys obviously play for him, even the 2nd stringers.

He is a good HC because of his ability to scheme, and his in game management has always been good. He never burns a TO for a dumb reason, his players are smart and rarely make dumb mistakes or get hit with dumb penalties. He was good in Cleveland too, defensively. I think they had a top ranked D when he was there. They just needed more O.

Actually Wanny has a ring BTW.

Bellichick was fired in cleveland because of bad personnel decisions.

Most of his players today are Parcells guys.

Let him continue to draft and see where the Pats franchise end up.

My guess is the toilet.

But I thought I heard his players didnt like him in Cleveland.. and even during that losing stretch before they made their Superbowl run..

Doesn't your coach have a ring from when he was an assistant coach for Dallas?

The difference between Belichick becoming a good coach and a bad coach was moving to New England. The New England media/fanbase will hype ANYTHING.

Cleveland is not really that biased of a sports town. The fans can get kind of rowdy, but they're not going to promote one of their players senselessly as the Next "Next Montana".

Coaches dont go from dumbarses to geniuses overnight. It's situation.

FYI Not many players left on the Patriots roster that were drafted by Parcells, a large percentage of the players ARE B.B drafted or signed by him and a few are left over from the dark days of the Pete Caroll and Bobby Grier reign. You cant question B.B draft this year, by far the best job of drafting in football.

This is belichicks draft last year...lets see if it was that good.

1 013. DT Ty Warren Texas A&M ???????
2 036. CB Eugene Wilson Illinois (can't make any plays)
2 045. WR Bethel Johnson Texas A&M (good player)
4 117. DT Dan Klecko Temple (good Player)
4 120. DB Asante Samuel UCF (the guy sucks)
5 164. C Dan Koppen Boston College ??????????
6 201. QB Kliff Kingsbury Texas Tech ???????????
7 234. TE Spencer Nead BYU ?????????????
7 239. DE Tully Banta-Cain California ?????????????
7 243. DT Ethan Kelly Baylor ???????????????

so you hit on two guys, and one of them (bethel Johnson) has shown nothing as a reciever, but hey, he's a okay returner.

Ty Warren by all acounts is play very well.
Eugene Wilson is being mention as defensive Rookie of the year.
Asante Samuel is the nickel DB has 2 INT one for a TD, not to bad
Dan Koppen Starting center moved Woody to guard.
Tully Banta-Cain Is making some real good plays on special teams.

You cant find a team that has that much production from their rookies

You never judge on draft picks until a player establishes himself in the league enough to learn all aspects of the game. Bill Belichick was never a bad coach, if anything he is an excellent coach and has shown in the last few years that he is among the best at preparing for a game against an opponent.

From what Browns fans have told me, he wasn't very media savvy when he was here. He liked to give one word answers and cut press conferences short for no apparent reason. I think he learned his lesson and now knows what having the media in your corner can do for you.

You can't say the guys a bad coach, his team is responding even though they have killed with injurys.

It is nice to see Miami fans say that Belichick is a great coach.....very classy guys.
