How far can former Texas A&M Aggie Ryan Tannehill rise up NFL’s quarterback hierarchy

How many SBs did the bucs have before Brad Johnson?

Brad was very underrated, that is a different argument though.

the problem is fans think Qbs have to put up great fantasy #s to be good QBs. ben was outstanding during that '05 SB run, he sucked in the SB and was fortunate to get a W but they don't make it w/o him. the next SB he led one of the greatest drives in SB history. Ben is a future HOFer, if Ryan is half as good as ben you guys will be happy.

Not gonna argue that Tannehill is in even the top 10 right now...however, he had a weak receiver corp. in 2012...in 2013 his O-line was a joke....it appears that finally in 2014 he will have a fairly complete surrounding cast and will have no reason not to join the top ten....if not the top 5 of QB's in this league....playoffs....etc etc etc.

Bad anaylogy....the Bucs had one of best 3 defenses in NFL history that year....so all Brad Johnson had to do was not screw it up.

Would you suggest that the 2014 Dolphin defense has the potential to be a top 3 defense ever?

Let's see, his rookie year he only had Bess and Hartline to throw to, last season he was on his ass 25℅ of the time before he could even sneeze after the snap. His defense has maybe truly helped him out in 4 or 5 games in two seasons. Lastly, Mike Sherman and Pouncey's telltale head snap. That is all.

Yeah, Johnson was very underrated. He was awesome everywhere he played. Haha.. He was neither underrated nor overrated. He was what he was and that was very average. If RT turns out to be a BJ, he will have the bust label

TB had an all time great D that year, one that is underrated by most fans but w/o quality QB play they weren't winning. Check out the 1977 falcons.

was he great? of course not but people think he was "along for the ride", people that don't understand the game. even the greatest D's need quality QB play and Brad helped 3 franchises make the playoffs. Certainly not a great QB but a good one.

If Ryan turns out to be as good as Johnson you guys will be thrilled. That will mean you have a good QB you can win big with.

There is a difference between good QB play....and great QB Play...Brad Johnson doesn't win a superbowl without having a defense extraordinarily great.

how many SBs were they winning before he got there?

Any QB who get a Super Bowl from posting the the worst qb rating in the history of the game should not get credit for anything period end of story. He was outplayed in every SB yet he get the "elite" label because he has 2 sb when on any other team he wouldn't have ****. He was on a SB ready team when he came into the league no diff then Wilson which makes it was easier, Wilson wont do **** either once they lose some guys he can't carry them.

If it wasn't for his D Roth would have been nothing, which you see his true colors showing ever since that D has gotten older and now they need to rely on this so called "Elite" Qb and he can't bring them back to the playoffs and his only recent appearance he was bounced by TEBOW in the first round (cause the D didn't keep him in it like always). Dudes so overrated its hilarious he gets the Elite label.

they don't reach the SB w/o him, he was great in the 3 AFC playoff games.

Ben is incredibly underrated b/c fans and the media worry too much about meaningless fantasy #s.

Once again you miss the point...but whats new?

The greatest defenses in NFL history (85' Bears, 01' Ravens & 02' Bucs) all won superbowls with average quarterbacks...not great quarterbacks, not hall of famers.

yep, I missed the point:lol: notice how many SBs those teams won w/o those QBs or w/o quality QB play?

the issue is average fans cannot see past meaningless fantasy #s. all 3 of those QBs were vital to the SB runs that those great Ds led them to.

Everyone puts down Dilfer as just being there. if you go back and look he played a hell of a stretch of 11 games. only had 10 turnovers and led the offense to 25 points per game.

Made plays when he had to and converted turnovers into points. He wasn't average that year.

Dilfer is incredibly underrated, obviously the D is the main reason they won but that team went about 6 weeks w/o scoring a TD and if that continued they weren't even going to make the playoffs. Dilfer was a solid vet and he limited mistakes and made a big play or 2 in each of those playoff games. Fans think QBs have to put up eye popping #s in order to be good. Put a Dilfer on SD and they probably at least reach a SB in the last 7-8 years if not win 1 or 2 but fans think Rivers was great b/c he put up great fantasy #s.

Multiple and many QB's would have won Superbowls playing with those defenses....anybody who doesn't realize that knows not what they are talking about.

Brad Johnson was a career lower 80's rated QB....I watched him play a lot being located in the Tampa Bay area...nothing special at all.
