how many impact players have Ireland/Sparano gotten us?

I hope this doesn't turn into lets hate Jake Long cause I believe we all agree he's a good player. I was just trying to make the point you need gravy to win in the NFL now.......meat and potatos does not get it done anymore.....someone said Davis is a play maker on this thread. How many INT's does he have?....Wake made plays last year. Too bad he was DOMINATED by a rookie on monday night. It wasn't even double team, the rookie did it by himself.....am I venting?....I guess that's what happens when you haven't won the superbowl in 38 years and counting.

Ozzy rules!!

It's easy to miss at the top of the draft as there are countless examples of busts. The pick should have been Ryan who is making a big impact in Atlanta. In terms of elite players in their positions, Jake Long is the lone player that these clowns have obtained.

May be a shocker to a lot of fans but this team has no play makers on defense and only Reggie Bush on the offensive side of the ball. But the problem with Bush is that they don't know how to use him making him an "ex-playmaker."

Again though, just like Pat White Jake Long was a Parcells pick. It has already been noted that Parcells regretted that choice. I think it was also noted that Ireland wanted Matt Ryan.

There are alot of confusing picks and acquisitions as to who got them. Who knows really.

But both Long and White were Parcells picks

Agreed completely.

I think Davis is good, but too many people are still living in the game where Davis intercepted Brady in the end zone. From that point on he was been good to pretty good nothing more. Definitely not elite nor even close to being in the discussion.v

They acquired(which is just as important as drafting) Brandon Marshall, Jake Long, Cameron Wake, Devone Bess, Randy Starks, Karlos Dansby, and others.

For whatever reason people are really on Vontae Davis. Perhaps it is because he spoke up before the season started. Regardless, he is a an impact player and on the verge of being elite. Leaving 2 games with injuries does not take away what he's done the past 2 years. He regularly shuts down his side of the field. And lets face it, outside of Marshall, there hasn't been many players on this team that have stood out the past 2 weeks(at least consistently).

The problem the past 2 weeks has been conditioning, lack of preperation, game time mistakes, and horrific gameplans. Thats coaching. Thats 100% coaching. We have enough talent on this team to win double digit games. We are not doing so because our coaching staff is so inept.

Just because we are losing games doesn't mean the sky is falling and the Miami Dolphins are the least talented team in the NFL. That honor goes to the Seahawks. We have brought in great talent and we do have elite players. How they got here is less relevant than the fact that they are on the team.
Tony Sparano deserves to be fired because he simply cannot coach. Jeff Ireland deserves to be fired because he has no concept of value and has drafted suspect players. But lets not act like we haven't got talent on this football team......no matter how they got here.
I will give you Cam Wake last year but come on bro, what has Marshall accomplished here? Dansby has not done anything either. Starks had a nice year in 2009 but nothing since. They have failed time and time again and when they gotMarshall and Bush they didnt know how to use them. They have turned 2 play makers into JAG.

Long is a great player but they should have drafted Matt Ryan, QB>LT period.

Does not really matter if we love him or not...Rome is on fire and they are all responsible. I will say this though...If I had J Longs size/skills and the coach called a fade with 1/2 yard to go (on more than one occasion) - the fans would not have to call me out because I would be on the 6 oclock telling everyone how inept the staff is for not letting me do my J-O-B.

Brandon Marshall cost us two draft picks and we traded down from #12 in the first round to recoup one of those draft picks (which we used on Odrick). We could have used the #12 overall pick in that draft for Dez Bryant, Ryan Matthews or Earl Thomas. Jake Long was drafted, not sure why you put him on the list, he wasn't acquired.

They also acquired Ernest Wilford, Gabril Wilson, Justin Smiley, Jake Grove, Joe Berger, Pat McQuistan, Bobby Carpenter, Tim Dobbins, Tyler Thigpen and other busts.

Brandon Marshall was absolutely worth 2 second round picks, especially when compared to Roy Williams trade or other big name trades of the last few years. Almost every single one of them included a first round pick, save for perhaps Kevin Kolb(who wasn't an established player, unlike Marshall) in which Arizona had to give up a single 2nd and a pro-bowl corner.
People are sobbing because he dropped a touchdown pass, but he is still a dominate player. For every time he makes a mistakes, he comes back with a 2 or 3 huge plays. He dropped the td pass, the caught a short pass and carried a defender for a touchdown. None of the players you listed(the woulda, coulda, shoulda crowd) have had the impact Marshall has in his career and should continue to have this season. Oh, and we still could have had those players, it would only have cost us Koa Misi. Marshall isn't responsible for Ireland trading down and deciding on quantity over quality.

And Long was acquired. He is on this team. We acquired him by spending a first round pick.

Ireland deserves to be fired, he has screwed the pooch to often. Im really concerned about the lack of hits with second round picks, as those are the lifeblood of any team. But the fact remains, this is a damn good football team. This team has elite talent on it. That talent was brought in by this regime. It doesn't save them, but we shouldn't act like they never did anything right.

Who is playing at an elite level right now?Who has over the last 2 seasons? This team has no elite talent.

Marshall tore up the Jets, while still recovering from surgery, last season and has been great the last 2 games. Dansby was good for us last season and our defense was noticably worse when he got injured.

And how can you indicate that Marshall and Dansby aren't good players, then turn around and say they are playmakers and haven't been used right? Its one or the other.
They are good players, they have been good players, and will be great players in the future. The fact is, they aren't used right and our entire team is currently struggling. Again, thats coaching.

This regime deserves to get canned. But they did do somethings right. People can groan and complain and act like nothing every worked out ever and we are the at the bottom of the suck barrel. But people are this depressed because this is a good team and they expected them to have success.
After all, its not to many people are publically gripping about the Seahawks, as they were expected to struggle.

Wake, Long, Marshall, Bess, Carp, Maybe Thomas.
With the exception of Long, all these guys can be replaced quite easily. I cant believe you would add Carpenter and a guy who has only played in 1 NFL game

This team has very little elite talent.... that's all a bunch of hogwash. It's a roster full of overrated talent.

Miami doesn't have elite talent at the quarterback position and that's all that really matters.... followed by head coach. They CHOSE not to have it... which is why everyone involved deserves everything that's coming their way.

Perhaps before confronting, and cutting up posts, of others you should settle on a consistent side of the discussion.

This is, without a doubt, the biggest failure of this front office. Its absolutely mind boggling.

They got their jobs because others couldn't fix this problem. And yet.......ignored. Again and again. Overlooked. This front office has had multiple chances to correct the problem and they choose not to. And, like other regimes who ignored this problem, they should be shown the door.

I didnt ask for it both ways as evidenced by the quote.

So Marshall has had one good game. WOW! This is a guy that made play after play in Denver, came here and scored 3 TDs. As for Dansby what has he accomplished? Its so easy to say that the defense plays worse without him well guess what? The defense has played horrible without Crowder. Dansby has made no significant impact on this team.
