Henne imploded? Where was I when this happened?
So you think Miami HAS to run up the middle to try and gain a 1/2 yard because thats a better option than running behind Long? Hope thats not what you mean. Most teams run up the middle to gain short yardage because its the shortest distance to gaining that 1/2 yard.Yea...You got it. For what we are paying Long...We should not need a middle to get 1/2 yd , The giant should be able to take care of that alone dont you think? But we have to resort to throwing fades to Hartline... why is that?
Good to hear from you again...Thought you didnt love me anymore after Henne imploded again this year. I know how much you wanted him to succeed but Im sure you will grow to admire the new QB over time.

Please drop us a postcard from your Parallel Universe.
How about this postcard from a little place called "Reality"
Jakes on words:
Among the most mystifying developments has been Pro Bowl left tackle Jake Long’s occasional breakdowns.
According to PFF, Long has allowed four sacks. He yielded two his first season, four his second and six his third. He didn’t play in preseason but doesn’t use that as an excuse.
"I hate it," he said last week. "But I correct the mistakes and move on."
Seems Jake can accept the fact he is getting beat & not pulling his #1 overall weight but some people can't grasp it. If you want to see decent line play look no further than Pouncy but even he can-not seem to get 1/2 yards of push when needed.

So your point is basically he isn't the best left tackle to ever play the game? The guy is still pretty darn good and I am glad to have him on the team regardless of when he was picked or how much he makes.
Just sayen the guy is not playing up to par...by his own admission he is not. Give credit where credit is due...Pouncy is a rookie doing an outstanding job. Jake has been here a few years and is digressing.
Up to what Par? Who decides the par? The guy is playing good football just not as good as he usually does. He is obviously playing hurt and is still the best O lineman on our team and better than just about any other team can produce. Maybe the injuries will mark the end of the dominant Jake Long, but he showed the last 3 seasons why he was picked #1. You can hate the pick all you want, but the guy has been the best tackle in football the last 3 years. Also who cares about Pouncy in this conversation? You are complaining about Long and I am telling you that you are wrong. Pouncy is fine, but his play has nothing to do one way or the other with Long.
K... Glad someone is happy with him and the line play. I still wish we could run it on the goalline but maybe Moore will connect on those fades Henne could not. Sorry I mentioned Pouncy...was just trying to show I do see decent play from him this year. Wear that Long jersey w/ pride...The only one who has to be satisfied with Longs play is you. Its all perspective...some rose colored...some not.
I guess you're right we should bench Long because he is worse than Columbo. From looking at your post it looks like you are blaming the lack of a goalline running game on Jake Long and to me that is just dumb. You really thing that on a line that has Incognito, Carey, and Columbo that Long is the problem? I agree with you that he is not what he used to be, but he is not what is wrong with the line. Part of the problem? Maybe, but he is definitely not that horrible. Try watching Carey and Incognito pull and then tell me where the problem lies.
