I'm sure there have been many threads about this already, but I never see much reasoning behind the answers, it's usually just........ we have a long way to go, or it's gonna take time, or we're going to the superbowl, but I hardly see people go into depth as to why

I honestly think Miami will get 10 or more wins, they just have too much talent not to. They've got 3 probowl caliber WR's 2 Stud RB's, A GREAT T.E. and Now.........A QB who can actually throw the ball more than 30 yards AND knows the offensive system. The defense also looks to be better than it has in a couple of years IMO, Carter, Holliday, J.T. Traylor, Seau, Thomas, and Sparagn/Crowder just sounds like a NASTY Front 7!!!

I say 8-8 or 9-7 with a couple of breaks. This is learning year of a new system. new coaches, and an adjustment period for the players. I think Nick needs another strong draft, in order to get his brand of players, along with some more needed depth at CB, Safety, along with the Oline, and quarterback! Just my two cents.

I think the beginning of the season is going to be a bit disappointing. maybe 3-5 record to start. Remember we have a lot of new players and coaches and it will take time for them to come together and operate as a team. After that who knows? 4-4 to finish the season? There are so many question marks at this time that it is hard to say where we'll be at the end of the year. I am an eternal opfinist (that's a new word for the dol-fan who feels that every year will bring a championship) but I think we'll have some growing pains this year and next.

We are 2-3 years away from getting back to Championship football!:)

I fully agree with that. Weed out the weak spots, and address them next year. THose who remain here will have a year together as a team and be that much stronger for it.

During the 2-3 year process, Nick may have to replace some veterans as well, so depth is the key to a successful turn over from veteran blood to the young blood.

So true, when we win it may be without some of the big names we are so farmilier with. I like what Nick said about a team being as good as their bottom tier of players.

Not too much optimism so far I see!! That's cool, But I wonder how the players think they will do......... Guys like J.T., Zach, Madison, Chambers, Mcmike etc...... I'm sure they want to WIN NOW!!! And I think they can do it, the talent is definitely there, and there have been teams that have done pretty well in the first year of a new coaching staff, and system.

There is a possibility. I am positive about the season, but I am looking at it with a realistic point of view. There is a lot of new systems, players, and coaches. We are lacking the depth in the areas I listed above. The team is on the right track. Nick can not address every need in his first year, it will take time, and patience.

I hear ya, and I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but what kinda scares me is the thought of it taking too long, and then by the time it happens guys like Taylor, Thomas, Madison, etc..... will be too old to be a part of it. Sure it would be nice to get some guys to replace them and not see a drop off in porduction, but to expect that is unrealistic in my mind. Taking too long to get some of the right players in place, but losing some of your current best players seems like it would be taking 2 steps forward and then 2 steps back.

I hear you. Nick will have a better idea of what he has after this season. The other thing that he has going for him, is that he knows how precious draft picks are so he won't be wasting them like the last staff did. Hopefully this years draft picks can step it up.

I am going with a 9-7 record. The team will need time to adjust to the new coaching staff and team members, especially on defense. In addition to Ricky being out the first four games, I believe the team will start slow (3-5) and end fast (6-2).
