I hear ya, and I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but what kinda scares me is the thought of it taking too long, and then by the time it happens guys like Taylor, Thomas, Madison, etc..... will be too old to be a part of it. Sure it would be nice to get some guys to replace them and not see a drop off in porduction, but to expect that is unrealistic in my mind. Taking too long to get some of the right players in place, but losing some of your current best players seems like it would be taking 2 steps forward and then 2 steps back.

Guys like Tyalor, Zach and Sam may not be around when things get straightened out. That's the unfortunate reality of the mess Wanny and Spielman left behind. The team still has a lot of holes. If you look at the roster from top to bottom, it's not exactly the most talented in the league. There are some great players and some potentially great players, but after the starters the level of talent really drops off. It's going to take some time to build up the kind of depth you need to be able to win a championship.

We are 2-3 years away from getting back to Championship football!:)

Only if they completely take the team apart. Got news for you, there is no way JT, ZT and Madison will be on this team 3 yrs from now (there skills would have declined and their cap numbers too high).
Therefore, they will have to find replacements of their quality in the next 2 drafts (not easy to do).
In today's NFL you can turn around in 1-2 yrs. With the right FA pickups and plugging the right holes they could be very good next yr.
If they are going to draft a rookie QB next season, you have to figure he will not make an impact for 2-3 yrs. By then, many of the top vets on this team will not be around. So you would have to completely revamp this team (particulalry on defense). I think some of the defensive players they drafted this yr could develop into pretty good players, but they would need considerably more. With ZT and Seau gone, you figure LB would be a priority and you need better depth on the D-line. You had better hope the first day draft picks all pan out.
I think they have a good core of players right now and a good mix of young players and veterans. No reason to think they won't be competitive this yr. I don't see this group of players winning 3-6 games as some have suggested.

If they go better than 6-10, then Saban is a coach of the year candidate. Not saying it won't happen, but this looks to be a rebuilding year. I think Saban will do a good job for you guys as time goes on, but it's too much to ask of anybody this season. Trust me, as a Bills fan, I've been through rebuilding seasons recently and they're not fun. We may be even doing some of our own this year with Losman at QB, but we'll see how that goes.

7-9 best, but thats ok because even if we go 4-12 again this season, in 2006 we will be playoff contenders. Our rookies will be developed and with another good draft we will go.

Coach of the year? For a 7-9 season???

He would be if he got us to, say, 10-6 and a playoff berth (which wouldn't happen in the AFC, anyway). Even 9-7 would make him a candidate. But for, say, an 8-8 season, nah. It would just be a little bit of luck.

I still say 7-9, with an 8-8 option...

I honestly think Miami will get 10 or more wins, they just have too much talent not to. They've got 3 probowl caliber WR's 2 Stud RB's, A GREAT T.E. and Now.........A QB who can actually throw the ball more than 30 yards AND knows the offensive system. The defense also looks to be better than it has in a couple of years IMO, Carter, Holliday, J.T. Traylor, Seau, Thomas, and Sparagn/Crowder just sounds like a NASTY Front 7!!!

I agree with you on this. The thing that has me fairly concerned is our secondary which for the past few years was a strength. I really think this will be the part of the team that hurts us the most. I know preseason is just that, but both Chicago and Jax took us apart passing the ball. We'll see but I'm pretty much going with 8-8 plus or minus one. GO FINS.

Considering we have the leagues toughest schedule, and play in the best division in the NFL...I say somewhere between 5-11 and 8-8. I think we`ll be an above .500 team next year, then back on top of the AFC East by `07.

Last year was our first losing season since 60's i belive.
We arent the Browns,Saints or the Cardinals were every year you know theyre gonna be awful. Last year was a disaster, Hurricanes, Ricky quitting, Season Ending injuries,Bad FO moves, and coaching. I dont think any Team in NFL history had a worse offseason/season. We still managed to win 4 games that could have very will been 9-10 wins if it wernt for Gonestedt....

So far this season we have*knock on wood* no Major injuries, Hurricanes,Star RB's quitting, Bumstedt..

Like I said b4 we arent the Browns we are the MIGHTY DOLPHINS!!
i will be dissapointed if we dont win more then 8 games..
:horsey:

We won 4 games last year with not much of an O-line, no running game at all and some crappy QB play...I think we are at least 3-4 games better...I will say we win 7.
