How Many Wins in 2013 was Ryan Tannehill Responsible for?

Good, another set of numbers showing that Tannehill is basically the same QB as Luck and better than RGIII. Looks like he was decent value in the draft. He is also better than Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Sam Bradford, Alex Smith, and Eli Manning. He is in the same class as Dalton, Roethlisberger, and Stafford. He is also not far away from Brady.

This formula (as noted in the article) is based mainly on air yards per attempt. Tannehill was 17th among starters in that category in 2013. Ahead of Brady, Luck, Ryan, Romo, Dalton, RGIII, Stafford, Roethlisberger, Newton, Flacco, Bradford, and Smith.

I'm fine with this. Now will the Angry Deniers dispute the company that this places Tannehill in?
With regard to this particular statistic, in 2013, he was no better or worse than the quarterbacks mentioned above.

Seriously, why another one of these? Were you not loved as a child? Do you really need this kind of approval and attention?

It's getting to the point that you need to seek help with your issue. Stop with the "average" and "correlation" threads already. WE GET IT!!!!

Interestingly, the fan sites for those QBs are probably not filled with twits calling for the QBs replacement. That says more about the respective fans than the QBs.

I suspect we'd be surprised if we did a little exploration of those sites. There is so much variation in perspectives on these kinds of things, as evidenced on our site, that I suspect we'd find some people, at least at some points during the season, saying Brady, for example, is "done," and the team needs to be turned over to Ryan Mallett or someone else.

That's true. In fact if you regress air YPA against the "wins added" statistic in the original post, you account for 98% of the variance in the latter.

Tannehill doesn't throw the ball to himself. He doesn't block himself when he drops back. He doesn't play defense. He doesn't kick.

It's a team game. Period.

How many Tannehaters on this site do you think would say that Tannehill was as effective as Brady, Luck, Ryan, Romo, Dalton, RGIII, Stafford, Roethlisberger, Newton, Flacco, Bradford, and Smith this season?

Here is their chance to chime in. I wonder who will be doing the "happy adjusting" now? :chuckle:

You are discounting the magical "IT" factor. The QBs with "IT" can channel their inner "ITNESS" to the other players on the team making them better by a process similar to osmosis, called itmosis.

Well, the numbers don't lie. He's no Davone Bess, that's for sure.

we don't need stats to tell us, he was a key in the Atl and NE wins, other than that your D pretty much led to all the other wins.

Depends on who you ask.

According to the haters? Eight - 2 by the Bills, and one each by the Jets, Patriots, Saints, Ravens, Bucs, and Panthers

According to it ALL about the QB crowd? 16 - 8 by Miami,2 by the Bills, and one each by the Jets, Patriots, Saints, Ravens, Bucs, and Panthers

According the the "it's a team game crowd"? 0

According to Gravity/Shouright? - .453773646828736388327636738386363872367382638363 standard deviations above average

The OP wants to over power and persuade fans with individuals stats in the game that is thee most obvious team sport in the world.

There is no other game that equals team sport more than the NFL.
