I understand that this is still and wait and see situation but I can't help but wonder how much differnce one guy can make on a OL?

Wade Smith Made a big diffrence last game, hopefully MAc can make a posotive one.

Good question, but id more phrase it could he be any worse?

Id say with J James and D-Mac the left side should resemble an NFL offesnive line unlike what we had last week It could be significant.

If Big Mac is in shape to play a whole game AND if he gets into the offensive flow AND he and McKinney make the correct line calls, THEN Big Mac MAY be an improvement. I certainly hope so.

hey Ohiophinphan,

I'm from Ohio too, live in Tampa now.

Who is Karen Hunsinger ?

If it's not my business, sorry.

Macintosh should make a huge impact on the time given to throw the ball. his addded wt might give a boost to the run as well.

well lets hope he actyually hits the guys on their way to the qb instead of fanning them cause they look hot.

If we only get 2-3 better plays out of McIntosh, it can make a difference! One less sack means a drive might continue to change field postion, or get us at least a FG. One more better pass block might mean hitting Chambers or Booker on a deep pass! One more good block might mean Gordon breaking a 20+ yd run!

He can't turn the OL around by himself, but a handful of good plays could be the ones that win us the game.

Wasn't he originally signed to compete for a starting position? I can't remember the circumstances of his arrival now.

And with the line the way it is right now, what is our first round pick doing on the bench?! One thing is to bring along a rookie, wait for him to get a feel for the pros etc but we are hurting too much to have him warming the bench. Get him in there!!

Well he's not THAT good a lineman but he is a veteran...so that will definitely help with the line calls and such. He's also a better run blocker.

FYI, in case somebody doen't know, there are only 2 linesmen that have given up 2 sacks so far, that's W Smith and S Mckiney. Now St Clair 1, and James and Whitley have not given up any. Now pressures and huries is another story.

Also the left side of the line is getting about 1 yard more per rushing attempt than any where else. The leftside (3.3 ypc), the middle (2.5 ypc) and the rightside (1.8 ypc)...

(shudder) Yeeesh, those are terrible numbers..

Didn't McIntosh block fairly well for LaDanian Tomlinson in S.D.?
