Our group of WRs is strong. I cannot remember seeing a Dolphin Offense so stacked with talent.
I'm interested in your thoughts of how much time Jarvis Landry gets in his first NFL game? We know that he's good and his hands are so powerful that he can catch any ball thrown in his vicinity, but how much of a factor do you think he could be? The smart money says that Philbin will stick with his experienced players for key plays against New England but it could be interesting to see what the rookie can do. I have a hunch that he could be real weapon.

4 reasons why Landry will see significant snaps from the off:

1) Hartline said that Lazor wants to sub players in and out regularly to keep the players fresh and the playspeed up and has made sure all receivers can run all the option routes. Landry will therefore figure in that rotation.
2) Blocking. Landry is the best blocking WR on the roster. Given the new offense, we will fail without blocking WRs to open up the screens, RB option reads and short routes.
3) Tight windows. If we're hitting the middle of the field more this year, you need guys with the body control and hands to make grabs in tight windows. We have Gibson already who fits that to a tee, but Landry is probably the second best going across the middle.
4) YAC. After Clay and maybe Miller, Landry is probably our next best bet for after catch yardage.

Those factors, to me anyway, seem to be very central to what we're trying to achieve. If it were a different offense, I'd be tempted to say Landry will be eased in gently, but I believe he was drafted for this system specifically and a significant role in it. For the blocking alone, I wouldn't hesitate.

You can bet the Pats will do everything to take away Wallace, but you can't stop everyone. IF THill has time look for Landry and Clay to have big days.

I dont think they are concerned with Wallace. I think they stack the box, stop the run and do their best to limit our quick passing game. Wallace hasnt proved anything yet and I believe is still seen as a one trick pony.

Agree unless we can actually hit one early, not even a td but an over the top play will slow that down

Well I do think he is the primary KR/PR so we should see him do that.

:idk:

I hope they do...we'll kill them.

Prob about 12 Offensive snaps. Not much but worked in.

Do I start Gibson or Landry for my fantasy team?

How deep is this leage? Because neither should be on anyones team honestly.

Only Fins players worth drafting (Wallace, Clay, Miller, Moreno).... Maybe Tannehill?

Gibson/Hartline keep a eye on to see the production but yeah...no sure how you ended up with them.

Must be like a 16 team league?

If Gibson would have been slow o nthe rehab I think Landry might have gotten a ton of playing time, and that would have been his path to get in the running for OROY.

Now, if its a close game I doubt we see much of him on offense, he'll probably only get significant playing time if we're getting smoked or if we're smoking them. And I'm predicting it won't be a close game so we may see a decent amount of him.

If he's consistently getting separation and proving to be the player we all think he will be, I can see him getting a ton of action; playing outside, slot, 4 wide. This is his chance to prove his worth because I believe Tannehill is gonna spread it around pretty nicely.

Ye of little faith. I think that Tannehill is a terrific backup QB fantasy Draft pick.
I know it's important not to bring your emotions into it but if Andrew Luck is a 4th round fantasy draft pick, Tannehill is a great value as a backup in the 12th round and later. Check the yardage from last season. Tannehill threw for greater yardage than Luck and now he has better weapons, a better O-line to keep him upright and a better Offensive Coordinator than last year.

#4 I totally disagree with. He has not shown the ability to put up big YAC yards at this level and I doubt he will. Bess had HUGE YAC yards in college and very few in the pros, and he was a lot quicker than Landry, with the same kind of speed. Landry will not gain huge separation and will be tackled as soon as he puts those huge mits on the ball. I love Landry's attitude and willingness to block, but I said it before and will again, he won't be in the top 3 in reception, yards, and TDs for us as a rookie. He will be a solid backup with the potential to become a solid #2 in a few years. I saw out of him in the preseason just about exactly what I thought I would see, and he is not the 2nd coming of Jerry Rice, or even Hines Ward for that matter. I think his career will be much closer to Hartline with better blocking abilities than either of the other two I just mentioned.
Don't get me wrong, I like the pick, just don't get your hopes too high that he is going to be ROY, he won't be.
