Hurricane Irma Only thread

So when the bands pass over and there's that delay of calm.... They come back out? That's amazing on their part.

Like last night it was very inconsistent so they were able to radar check and make moves.

But i doubt that is happening now.

Closer approach of Irma's center to the east coast (rather than track west off of Naples) up the center of the state bringing hurricane conditions on both coasts simultaneously.

Wishing everyone the best. I've been through 5 hurricane evacs and stayed in place for a number of others and I know how scary it can be. Stay safe everyone.

Little update on my end (West Boca):
We must have gotten a lot of rain last night. I lowered the pool level to about 6" below the top of the pool and I have about 1" left.
Winds are brisk from the south and southeast and if my old wind gauge still works we have winds of about 20-30 mph with the occasional gust of 50-60 mph. So far never lost power (knock on wood).

Currently sitting on the patio, having a cup of coffee and watching the power of nature. The patio faces north and the wind rushes by. I will post a couple pics of my sanctuary in a minute.

The newly installed impact windows on the front and sides holding up well. Cant wait to have them installed in the back next winter.

Hope everybody else is doing ok as well.

When are the winds supposed to die down enough in Broward? Small problem to have when the only inconvenience is loss of power though, so I'll take it.

Probably not till late tonight or in am. FPL said they are investigating the cause of my power outage and will then provide a restoration time lol.

Yea i would expect to be without power most of next week. Have to imagine between Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Collier and Lee counties . . .there will be well over 2 million households without power.

We have never had a storm effect so many at the same time like this one.
