He hasn't been known to be a "starting" back but he'll be one here.. or at least splitting the carries with DT. He won't just be a 3rd down back here.

I understand what you are saying...But if something happens to thomas.Then either LJ or lex will be getting alot of carries cause I don't think bush can take 25 carries a game with his size.And it will hurt more than help if he has to be put in that situation.So LJ would be fighting for a shot at alot of carries.Thats all I mean.

Well... it's really quite rare to release a first-day player (used to include 3rd rounders) no matter how badly they suck. They're drafted that high for their athletic ability, college record, and it's understood it takes a while to blossom in the NFL, so you usually give these guys at least a couple of seasons to see what they have.

RB is an extremely easy position for NFL standards. To be replacement level (average player from the bench) the requirement usually is to breathe; to be average starting RB quality, you can usually find guys in FA or bottom half of the draft. Sure, rare talents are way ahead of everyone else, but they're not near impossible to find like an elite QB, DB, etc. are... And for a 2nd rounder RB to not pan out immediatly, it is quite a dissapointment.

But we shall see when the season rolls around. Hell, we still haven't played the 3rd preseason game!

I thought he looked fine against Carolina. The idea that the FO is unhappy with DT is just something that has burned like a grass fire. Some unreliable media outlet suggests the LJ signing means the Dolphins are not happy with DT based on nothing and the Finheaven downers run with it like its gospel. The guy has played two games and had limited practice. He was the leading rusher in the Big 12 playing for an average team. I am going to wait till the guy has a chance to prove his worth before I get caught up in this modern media massacre.

Think we'd let Lex try to tote the rock for a few games and if that doesn't work out we'd have to sign someone else. I don't think we'd explore the option of letting LJ be much more than a short yardage/goal line guy.

Honestly though if DT were to get hurt this year it probably wouldn't impact us too much replacing him with Lex Hilliard, this season is all about him getting used to running in the NFL.

because the Patriots have ruled "the way of the roster move" over the last decade... taking guys no one wants & winning DT's and SB's with 'em. and we didn't.

I agree with mostly everyone. It doesn't matter who our 3rd or 4th rb is. How would you all feel if they signed me tomorrow because I would be just as effective. Why not try Rick Ross. He's big and a pretty positive role model too.

Really it's no big deal but again we let all QBs, RBs, and TEs go so that we can search the waiver wire for bodies. The FO must feel coonfident that they will return next year because there is little urgency to improve.

Also why is it that when someone mentioned signing Tiki it was a horrible idea but LJ is ok. Not sure which of those guys I would prefer. At least Tiki retired after a pretty good season. Johnson hasn't done much in years.

Cmon, Larry Johnson at best is a 3rd and 1 or 3rd and 2 back. Why would we need that when we have Lousika (Money) Polite???
and from what I am reading Polite most likely isnt making the team due to Clay. I want to keep Polite and stop the the Larry Johnson thing. He isnt even worth the paperwork administration has to fill out.

This thread is hilarious... I come to Finheaven for Fins info and some fans opinions, but I also like threads like this one to laugh my *** off after a hard day of work... I find it relaxing...
