Hyde5: National view of Dolphins? Bad, bad news

The critics will always find a way to **** on us. If the Dolphins win 11 games and shock the world again the way they did 4 years ago, the critics will say it was a "fluke" and we had an "easy schedule". Just watch. We can never win in the eyes of some media outlets.

I'm still waiting for at least one major media outlet to recognize that hiring Joe Philbing, Mike Sherman, and Kevin Coyle could be enough to make us competitive again. Coaching changes alone are greater than any offseason personel move you could make imo, unless of course you are adding a franchise QB.

this reminds me of last year precamp when there was a lot of "i like being the underdog and disrespected" talk on here...

I don't think we're going to be a playoff team this season, but come on, we've replaced Buffalo in the AFC East cellar? Are you serious? As bad as Miami's decade was, the Bills didn't even sniff the playoffs once! They bring in overhyped Mario Williams and suddenly they're hot ****? Please, wasn't that franchise's complete and utter ineptitude one of the reasons why we picked 8th overall and not like 4th? Give me a break.

Has training camp started yet?

I'm in the camp that this team hasn't shown anything to give them the benefit of the doubt for anything more than an 8-8 season at this point, but lets be real here..... until the pads are on, no one can make any judgements that shouldnt be regarded as an educated roulette wheel spin. and that goes for anointing playoff teams and failed seasons both.

2 weeks.... then we'll start seeing which way this team (and the rest of the league) will shape up to be

The thing I don't get is how Buffalo suddenly became media darlings. People pick them every year, and every year they end up no better than 8-8. They aren't going anywhere with Fitzpatrick.

that's true...the upside with him is the same as the upside with andy dalton in cinci...not good enough

Like draft choices, I'm going to let the staff prove themselves too. The only way the questions can stop is for the answers to be rolling in.

Article is totally correct. We shoud def be calling for Joe's head when he hasen't even offically had a snap as a head coach. ;)

dont know if thats the right analogy just yet.... kid was only a rookie, still plenty of time to what he turns into and so far it looks promising to say the least.

would probably go with the Matt Cassel route.... overpaid and average at best even with home team colored glasses

ehhh...when i watch andy dalton i see ryan fitzpatrick level pro...not much upside...look for cinci to come crashing back down to earth in 2012...brutal sched...average qb

who's gonna run the ball??? ben jarvis green ellis...ha ha...he's gonna find out real quick the grass was greener in new england...lot of smellin salts in his future...

oh i def dont think they will repeat what they did last year, when you are in a division with the Steelers and Ravens you better play at a high level to even be competitive. But I just dont think its been even close to a large enough sample size to categorize him as Fitzpatrick average...

I look at that roster and i see AJ Green (another rookie).....and... and.... and... Gresham? lol then it falls off the Cedric freaking Benson. he made a lot happen last year with not much to work with. Im not saying he has all world talent or the highest ceiling, but i mean come on... he showed more in his rookie year than a lot of other rookie qbs did with a lot less to work with. just not fair to lump him in with fitz yet
