Hyde5: National view of Dolphins? Bad, bad news

cedric has more going for him than benjarvis...there's not gonna be those running lanes in cinci that there was in new england...the oppositions not scared of andy dalton like they are tom brady...aj greens a nice piece a great player but the oppositions gonna scheme to take him out of games...gresh is solid also but imo ben jarvis was very much a product of the system in new england...spread the opposition out go to shotgun and single back sets and run bjge on draw plays ect against nickle fronts...he's gonna be running against much more base looks imo in cinci...

the only thing he does that i like really is not fumble...but i'm sure there's some of that coming this year also against those divisional fronts...

im with you that the season isn't going to be as cinderella-esque as last year, and that there will be a regression to the mean for most of the roster. and that BJGE isnt going to look as good on Cincy as he did in NE.

Im just saying its WAAAAY too soon to throw in the towel on Andy Dalton becoming a very good qb in this league. 1 year and no pieces on offense besides AJ Green isn't enough for me to evaluate him as "bleh" lol.... kid has some moxy and will sling it. get him a few more toys and i think he can do some damage in the next few years.

I still like him better than Gabbert, Locker, and Ponder.... by a large margin

The Dolphins seem to have a lot of "IF'S" on this team. It would take; "IF" Reggie Bush can stay healthy, "IF" David Garrard can play like the Pro bowl player he was at one time while in Jacksonville, "IF" Cameron Wake can play like 2010 and not 2011 ... these kind of things get over emphasized because Miami hasn't been consistent in the WIN'S Dept in over a decade. Most teams have IF'S, but because the teams like the Patriots, Ravens, Cowboys, Saints and others Etc, Etc, Etc!!! the IF'S tend to get over looked. Miami certainly doesn't have the sexy names like other teams do or the Cinderella Coach like some others do. But I'm willing to bet, like Sparano and Saban did in their 1st season, "IF" Miami somehow wins and makes the playoffs the media will begin to change it's opinion and the expectation would increase just like they back than. Winning seems to cure all, unfortunately for Miami, it hasn't happened much and the perception is "DOWN". As a Fan it's tough to take, but you just keep on rooting as hard as you can and hope for a quick turn around. The media is being objective like they always seem, and because Miami is currently a down franchise; they have become the whipping boy's. Lets hope this ship gets righted beginning in 2012!!!! Articles like the OP posted are the norm now. So What!!! I'm looking forward to another season and hopefully a winning one at that.

Cameron Wake had a really good 2011. The only people who say otherwise are people who think a Wide 9 DE like Jason Babin is more valuable than a JPP or Osiumenyora. Sacks are nice and all, but they are FAR from the barometer for a 3-4 OLB/4-3 DEs season.

that's not exactly going out on a limb...but i like ponders upside more than daltons...locker also has a lot of upside...if he can throw it in the ocean

you may well get some wide 9 looks with wake this year...i could definitely see them using him that way...where his explosive get off and initial burst and power could overwhelm tackles in a variety of ways...

oh i def dont think they will repeat what they did last year, when you are in a division with the Steelers and Ravens you better play at a high level to even be competitive. But I just dont think its been even close to a large enough sample size to categorize him as Fitzpatrick average...

I look at that roster and i see AJ Green (another rookie).....and... and.... and... Gresham? lol then it falls off the Cedric freaking Benson. he made a lot happen last year with not much to work with. Im not saying he has all world talent or the highest ceiling, but i mean come on... he showed more in his rookie year than a lot of other rookie qbs did with a lot less to work with. just not fair to lump him in with fitz yet

was cedric any better? in four years in cinci his ypc... 3.5, 4.2, 3.5, and 3.9
........thats as bad as it gets... BJGE will be better.. its just not possible to be worse lol

Bernard Scott is going to get the majority of the carries this year supposedly.

maybe then bjge on the goalline...i'd like to have him for that...he's got a nose for the endzone and doesn't run with poor pad level...also on the wide 9's thing i think that also may be a good way to use olivier vernon...let him get a head start speed to power on the edge...

bernard scott the feature back...ehhh....they must be going away from downhill power running game in cinci...

whatever, the Bills where crap forever and then became the power of the 90's, the Pats where crap as well for some time and now have become the power of the 2000's the Jets well they've been crap forever and still stink... every team has it's low's but eventually they becaome good if not great. i see the fins on the rise they're young next year they'll have more money to make some moves. i really like the new coach "so far" and Ireland has done a great, not good but great job this year. think he really infused the line up with some really good young talent.

I don't give two ****s what the media or anyone else thinks. I am a Dolphins fan through and through. I will cheer on my team in the worst of times.

Forgive my spelling. This was sent from my phone.

Amen! Well said, bro...and that even included the horrendous 1-15 season! :bobdole:
