i am sick and tired of trying to luck up and find the next tom brady!!!

Berlin didn't get playing time so what do you want him to do? if you don't play then you don't have a chance to move up, I bet anything that if he played last week he would of been our best QB in that game. Don't judge a book before taking a look

I've taken a look...I read the first two sentences and I knew it was a dud.

That still doesn't guarantee anything.

Regardless of where the bodies come from, you have to keep looking and using ALL resources...not just first round picks.

Logic would dictate that a 1st round pick would have a better chance of succeding than say a 4th round pick that has spent his entire career on the bench.

There are no guarantees, but there are odds.

what has he done in pre-season so far to let anybody question his ability? he's done nothing but look good in the little time he has played

No he's had plenty of playing time in front of the people that matter and who make the decisions. Perhaps when he's cut another team will give him a shot.

what? you call half a quarter at best plenty playing time? hell we give Feeley 2 whole quarters plus and he still does jack, it's time to give the new guy a chance. we already know what ole touchy Feeley can do

The coaches see him everyday in practice so, if they thought that he deserved more than half a quarter, he would have gotten it.

Maybe we should get a first round QB for once, instead of picking up career backups.

Any QB can turn out to be a bust, so you are correct that there are no guarantees.
However, the success rate for QBs selected in the 1st round is much higher than that for QBs selected in all other rounds. So, while you should use all resources available...especially if its a virtually free resource, don't be surprised if after all the free agents, trades, and late round draft picks you used attempting to find the "diamond in the rough", the QB that finally solves your problems at that position comes from the first round of the draft.

While the success rate may be higher for 1st round QBs, the impact on a franchise for missing on a 1st round QB is huge. Some franchises are hamstrung for years because of a 1st round QB bust. Also, with the out of control salaries for rookies, it's worse now.
