I can now say the Dolphins HAVE a QB

In the game day thread I was bitching plenty about Tannehill but he came out in the 2nd half and made me look like a moron. I'm perfectly fine with that :). Hopefully he can keep having games like his 2nd half today

Same here. He had a lot of frustrating moments in the 1st half. But I'll gladly take a foot in the mouth any day when he performs like he did in that 2nd half.

Four 300-yard games this season. First Dolphin to do that since Dan Marino in 1998. Think about that. He throws for 300 yards every 3 games. A few of his throws were ridiculous today. Granted, he made a couple poor decisions, but those are called growing pains folks. This team will be better off in the long run by having him learn from those mistakes now than when we have an even better team assembled.

And to think, right now, he has as many starts at QB as players like Russell Wilson had halfway through last year as a rookie. 10 years ago, Tannehill wouldn't even be playing yet, as it was the norm for QBs to sit their first 2 years or so in the league. No one has more upside than RT17 and I for one am optimistic and looking forward to the future, while basking in the present, which has us in the playoff hunt.

Yup...you are 100% correct, excellent post

This fluctuates weekly so I'm going to wait until I call him a future starter or backup. I do enjoy coming to the site every week to see posters announcing he sucks after a loss or he or will be elite after a win

The homer nyjunc will still say he prefers geno smith over tannehill, lmao

Mike Sherman needs to call better passing plays for him. I think the playcalling is putting him in bad situations at times. Still believe in the kid.

its funny to hear you guys keep saying he needs to work on his deep throws like it's not week 13 and he hasn't been working on them all season...

Tannehill had a slow start today....but played well. I think he is doing well and should just continue to get better.

One thing he needs to work on is his deep throws, he seems to always underthrow receivers. Not just to Wallace, he also did it to hartline today on a play where hartline had the man beat by a good margin and would have had a TD

On that throw to Hartline he did get hit as he was throwing it, so I can't really say he "missed" on that one.

so when someone is learning how to rid e a bike if they don't get the hang of it after the first few tries they're never gonna be able to ride a bike?

When has anyone of our quarterbacks had to get chemistry with a WR like Mike Wallace. Please do not compare ted gin or clyde gates to him.

We need to see more progress.

For what it's worth, a Dolphins fan who has watched every season since the team came into the league -- was a season ticket holder from opening season through the undefeated season -- came to me today and said "Tannehill is going to be real good."

I thought that was interesting, given that he's never, ever endorsed anybody that's come through at QB since 2000. So while some people will look at today and say "I'm done with him" others looked at today and said "I'm now a believer." It's weird like that.

I think the obvious, obvious, obvious takeaway is that, as Harry said, there are some really good things there and we need to see continued improvement on the bad things.

I really liked the way he would look at his primary saw he was covered and checked down for a five to eight yard gain, he had time to do that today, a big step in his developement.

Every time I see someone post that he needs to improve, I just want to call them stupid and tell them he's perfect as is, just to piss them off.
