Hello,

first, I'am really enjoy with our first draft day, but I don't understand the crowder pick, I know he was weeks ago ranked very much highter but with zach and pope at ILB, why pick crowder, does thys guy play OLB ?

thanks for your opinion :)

I would like wilkerson and orton or orlovsky now

He fills a need. We needed to get younger at LB and he can play all three positions. The more I read the more I become less disgusted with the pick. I thought we could of done better but I trust Saban and his talent evaluating.

No we shouldn't have. Not with the talent and intensity that Crowder has. By the way you like David Greene that much? He's the only QB who's been selected since then so what does it matter?

Crowder was a first round pick in the third round.

Yes, he can play outside and in my opinion will play the strongside in the 4-3 and could move inside when we play our oddball/3-4 look defense.

When a guy like this is available in the third round you don't pass on him...regardless of who you have playing that position.

Get used to this though...Saban drafts for value regardles of need...and I love it.

Frye and Walter were picked just before us. None of the available QBs were worth the 70th overall pick.

Saban said in his PC tonight that Crowder can line up at any of the three spots and gives us depth.
IMO, Pope will probably never be anything more than a nice backup and a specical teams player, same for Ayanbadejo.
Bua has been moved to SS, Greenwood is gone and Spragan may be nothing more than a special teams guy also.
We needed a good young linebacker who could start on the outside this year and maybe take over for Zach in a year or two.

The more I read about Crowder....the less I like. I thought Roth had an aggressive attitude...but Crowder seems to not only fight on the field but on the street's...Saban should have picked Blackstock.

The more I read about Crowder the more I like. There are many talented players who talk it up a lot and fight. He will mature and the possibilities are endless if he stays healthy and dedicates himself.

Only two players I would have considered over Crowder, and they were Chris henry, and Darryl Blackstock. But then again I'm not the coach for a reason(mainly age and experience :) ), so I trust in Saban's judgment. Plus 1st round talent in the 3rd is still first round talent, just it's that much better of a pick in the 3rd.

Lets hope he doesn't follow his fathers footsteps.

I like Pope as much as the next guy. It just seems to me that Saban likes bigger players.

Saban already said why we took Crowder. We need depth at LB and he was a 1st round talent.Crowder along with Zack and Seau sound very good to me. Specially with the guy up front.

Ozzy rules!!

I'm still a little disappointed the Fins drafted Crowder since we have other more glaring needs. But if his knees work out he should be fine.
