I can understand not being able to comprehend this move. We are used to a GM whose emphasis on skill positions were going after UDFA's to compete for the #4 WR spot instead of getting actual talent to make impacts during the game.
This move is simple. Deep WR draft, skill set is a glove like fit for the Philbin/Lazor offense and foresight. You do have 3 of your top 6 guys coming off of injury but with a draft this deep at WR, why not groom a guy early, stash him on the PS and maybe in a year or 2 he's ready to take over for a Gibson/Matthews or even a Hartline, when their contracts get closer to expiring or they balloon. Not saying that will be the case, but I'm glad this team is starting to have some forward thinking on skill positions.
