I feel bad for Tannehilll

His numbers don't mean much, the Oline played nice until the fourth quarter. Tannehill couldn't put the game away and let the bucs hang in until they ended up winning this game. Time after time we went three and out because of his terrible pocket awareness unconsistency.

with a running game and good protection he looks nothing like mark sanchez. without a running game and good protection every QB looks like mark sanchez.

Well yeah, when Mark had a running game and protection he didn't look bad either. That's the point. Both are guys who need absolute perfect conditions to operate at a functional level, (a.k.a a game manager). That's not exactly what you expect to get when you draft a guy 9th overall. Look at guys like Big Ben, Rodgers, Cutler. Rodgers singlehandedly dragged his team to the playoffs last year with one of the worst o lines in football. Big Ben and cutler have NEVER played with a great o-line yet still perform at a high level. THAT is what seperates the great ones from the rest. Even early on from their careers you could tell that these guys could make plays regardless of the talent. I never felt that about Mark and I don't get the feeling Tannehill is any different. Just seems like a lot of you are making the same excuses some jets fans made for Mark when they didn't want to admit that he really wasnt anything special.

Tannehill left too much on the table tonight to feel sorry for. Missed an easy TD to Wallace early. Missed the opportunity to run it in for a score late and we kicked a FG instead. Takes two sacks on the final drive and throws a 1 yard pass on 3rd and 28.

I feel sorry for the fans that have to watch this team do the same thing year in and year out.

the wallace miss was bad...but seriously blaming this loss on Tannehill is a lazy cop out...Ryan had a 100+ passer rating until that last desperate INT...how about we give him some protection and and a running game first

Not blaming the loss all on Tannehill. The main reason we lost was a pathetic display by our D. But Tannehill was one of many players that could have done more tonight.

you can say that about anyone on the team...here is what I saw...our D put us in a 15-0 hole...Ryan led us back to a 19-15 lead...all we had to do was hold that lead...but our D let a 4th string RB run down the field and GLANNON...GLANNON come back on us...as far as I"m concerned RT did his job...miss pass to Wallace was bad but Clay dropped a beauty of a pass as well...this loss is on the D...we let a team averaging 15 points score 22

The criticism on Tannehill is still warranted regardless. The only players on offense I give pass to are Hartline and Matthews. Everyone else can suck a lemon.

i feel bad for him too...between this fan forum and the protection and run game he gets specifically from the crap tastic oline we run out there every week the guys jumping thru hoops

That's fair. A lot of people that like Tannehill seem to think anyone critical of him or not appreciating his greatness every time he makes the kind of throw a good quarterback is supposed to make is the same as hating him, blaming him for everything or wanting him benched.

You can think the guy underperforms sometimes. There are clear flaws in his game. And to constantly make excuses for the play around him or that it's only his second year cut it less and less all the time. In fact, I think it makes it harder on him.

If he's as good as people want to say he is, he needs to prove it. Not with a pass here or there, but with an entire game. He has to take charge of things, he has to raise not only his play but those of the guys around him to an extent. He needs to hit those deep throws. He needs to realize that he has a lane to run for 7 yards instead of throwing a pass into coverage for an incompletion.

He needs to be better than he is. If he is as willing to accept the excuses some fans make around here for his shortcomings, then he is never going to take this team or any other team anywhere.

The one thing about Tannehill that I don't like that is he has no passion. He doesn't yell at people, he never looks angry, and he doesn't seem to be leading anyone. I wouldn't jump through a wall for him. You see Brady and Manning going off on people when they **** up. Maybe that's just me though. I'm a type A person.

Does Tannehill need to be better? of course...but tonight's loss is not on him at all...got fronted a 15 point deficit..and came back and took the lead...then the D went back to its first quarter nonsense against a 4th string RB...is Ryan responsible for not being able to cover punts or stop the run? Dude had a 110+ passer rating until the final drive and that desperate INT

Then he'd be called a bully....... But seriously he did yell at Mathews to get the **** off the field in the Cleveland game.

he always looks angry...when he missed that throw to Wallace he almost broke his hand punching the turf

I don't see it often. I could be way off, but I haven't seen a lot of that from him. Either way, I wouldn't blame him for this game, but I'm waiting for somebody to step up as a leader.

I have seen this argument before

And he missed Wallace on a sure TD pass on another deep ball. We've seen this again and again.

He's the QB. He guided an offense that scored 19 points. To say it's not on him at all is showing really low expectations. And to apparently give him credit for getting the Dolphins the lead back overlooks every elementary mistake the Bucs made that played into that, too. You can't have it both ways.
