I dont think I will be ordering my Ronnie Brown jersey just yet....maybe have to go for an Orange Welker jersey or a Matt Roth now. :shakeno:

Oh come on, are you serious??? You really think he's going to miss any playing time?

This happens every year with 1st round picks. Relax.

why is lamar at top off the depth chart what about ricky lamar is coming off an injury a season ending at that ricky is healthy rested and back close to his playing weight to me it makes no sense

Simple: Ricky ain't on the team yet.

Yeah, its the nature of this business. Just look at how many times greats like Brett Favre have held out. No wait.....I keep forgetting he's a TEAM player and know's he'll get the money because of his accomplishments. Not because of a number. But oh well, greed is greed no matter what light you put it under.

HORRIBLE analogy. Favre was not a 1st round pick. As soon as he proved himself, he got paid.

Ronnie, and all other 1st rounders get paid according to where they are picked. It's not even totally the agents' faults. It's the way the CBA is screwed up.

This hold out, if it materializes, better be short, like 1 day. Rookies who hold out for significant time really screw up their development: I've seen it over, and over again.

How many here remember when Sammi Smith held out and
how it affected his first year?

Your opinion. Mine is different. At least I don't go about labeling what yours is. Sheesh

Actually, it's a fact that rookie deals would get done sooner if it weren't for the way the current CBA is structured.

Absolutely, every year agents wait in order to slot their players salary. Brown will be in camp as soon as the players below him or Alex Smith signs. That will give his agent a number to shoot for.

I blame the agents. Hopefully they will get standard rookie contracts int he next CBA

This just in- Dave Wannstedt is no longer head coach of the Miami Dolphins. All this doom/gloom $hit needs to stop. Ronnie Brown is the second overall pick in the draft. The second pick always waits for the first pick to sign so they can get a ballpark range for what Brown can sign for. Chill, I dont think we need to worry about Ronnie Brown missing more than a week of camp.

Precisely.

Hey, I've been wanting to ask you, when are you moving to New Orleans?

not better but more dependable and more stable.

i wouldn't be suprised if Ricky wakes up one day during the season and say's my heart isn't in the game (which really means i'd rather be smoking dope) so i'm retiring...again!!! you can't trust him...period. and the ONLY reason why he's coming back is becuase of $$$ he needs it...he needs to pay child support...he needs money for his kids trust funds...he owe's the Fins org. $8.6 million for breach of contract...he won't have to pay it if he plays. its all BS when he say's he misses the game...he misses and needs the $$$.

Go Fins!!!
he wasn't gonna be playing last year anyway... he was going to be suspended for the whole year.

if he missed the money, he'd be selling the pot. not playing football.
