I have changed my mind....If Feeley Starts...I will kill myself.

Gus knows the system better, AJ has more physical tools and ability.

Don't give me that! Linehan has been the OC for over 6 months and the first thing he did was have a meeting with (touchy) Feeley. It has been obvious since his very first quarter (Bullock for a TD?) that the guy does not have what it takes mentally to play quarterback. He is scared in the pocket and he doesn't have any friggin downfield vision. I don't see any way he starts. I say keep Brock.

Boy...some of you really went off on this.....

I was just trying to disturb the **** a little....I guess it worked... ;)

But I will say this...I am very dissapointed in AJ's performance against the Bears....

All we need is a QB that doesn't throw interceptions..that is all....I would go wit the safest option....and at this point (we got a long way to go) it looks like Gus gives us the best chance to win.

What really pisses me off is how AJ will refuse to make tough throws...yet tries check downs that almost get intercepted because he went through all his progressions and is late to a reciever....He seems to have a different concept of what "open" means in the NFL.

I am really looking forward to AJ's performance in the next game.

Lets clear something up; i dont think im a genius at all. Im just some schlub in an office working (multitasking) right now talking football as i work. I use whatever phrasology comes to mind and put down what doesnt violate TOS.

Now, maybe AJ can get better. I think he has ability and a good enough arm but it takes more than an arm. And I dont like waiting or excuses for players. I agree with the idea of playing aj more because he needs the reps in preseason. need to see what we have (again) and if it works in this offense.

Again, you dont seem clear on where I stand. Its not go phins aj sucks. Its go phins. The end.

Your sick of the AJ haters and im sick of the aj lovers. where does that leave us. right to an opinion. Right to list facts. I think thats all i did. But i think the Aj excuse makers are as old as the RW jokes. So again where does that leave us?

If it irks you, well i guess you need to see it again. Im not down for 4-12 again. And believe me when I say I HATE to be pessimistic. i got questioned for being too optimistic when Jay was starter and i posted at espn. But its not only about optimism and pessimism, its about what you see when you watch and break the game down. When your player is flawed you need to hope for improvement. When improvement doesnt come at all or fast enough you get annoyed and down on the team or player which is where i am right now on aj.

Hope that clarifies it.

Yeah but I am tired of teh haters making teh same excuses for Gus that they bash "huggers/Lovers" for.

I have said Gus looked more poised. Course he had the benefit of playing teh 2nd team, having coaches make adjustments based on what the Bears were doing. Not excuses sorry, but straight from Sabans mouth. Not saying he wont duplicate it next Sat, saying it is a case of people seeing what they want to see, not always what is exactly there.

God...did Feeley look bad.....

He held the ball a little too long and still had the happy feet...

Why does the word "prissy" come to mind when I see Feeley play?

For such a good arm...the guy refuses to "try" to make the tough throw...he seems to want to take all the easy stuff.....grow some balls AJ.

He has horrible feet in the pocket and he won't freakin step up into it.

If he throws another pass off his back foot...I will personally go down to the field and slap him.

Hey AJ...you know that guy that wears number 84?....You know...he's our best reciever...look for him.

Rough start for AJ...Gus looked like an NFL QB.....Gus really reminded me of Jake Delhomme when he first got to Carolina....
r u kidding me??? feeley makes too many hard throws....u r crazy man u need to watch the games a little more...plus if we play ferrote it will be a waste of a season unless you think we will win the sb with him:lol:

I think the term "hater," or "lover," based on any of the Qb's is ridiculous. I realize some people are pulling for a QB to win the job, and i've seen many of your posts, and they are very good, but would you have a problem with the opposite Qb who you wanted to win the job, winning the job, although he is the best option for the team? Most people on this site want the Phins to play as well as possible, and whether they want Gus/Aj to start, they want the best Qb to start. I've stated on this site many times that I believe Gus will start, and the QB of the future is playing college ball right now, but if AJ wins the job, I won't really care, as long as he's the best option possible for the Phins this season. I'll even give into what you've stated on this site many times, AJ is a talented Qb, and having him WIN the starting job would probably be the best thing for the long term success of the franchise, but if he doesn't win the job, I have no confidence in him, and I think he'll be a backup on a different team next season.

Nope I am pulling for AJ, but if everything plays out the way it seems right now, Gus should start. That is not my issue. My issue is perceived hypocritical basis for posts. Gus is more poised right now, more comfortable. Is it because of his familiarity with teh system, is it because he finally gets it after 8+ years? Or is it Aj is not as familiar, or is not a mentally strong as some suggest? ONE preseason game where he didnt look bad at all, just not as comfortable is not enough for all teh certainty that some have. I still believe it is a desparate plea to be right.

If AJ doesnt have I will gladly admit it. If Gus outplays AJ for whatever reason Gus should start. I want the fins to win, not my ego scratched. I am not going to be a GM or coach in teh NFL no matter if my opinions prove true.

Something, He Could Have Atleast Ducked Down And Tried To Take His Knees Out I Know It Sounds Easier Than It Really Is But This Broken Recored Is Begining To Bother Me, I Think If He Could Learn Some Side Step Moves Like The One Marino Used To Do He Has Potential If Not Than Forget It!

I feel the same way but about the other Qb, Gus. I wish I could find the quote from John Gruden about how he hates guys being labeled with potential to post. I have no rooting interest in whoever the QB is, just as long as he's the Qb who will give the team the best chance to win, I know Wanny said that, but it's so true. Gus is definately not the long term answer, but if AJ does not win the job he can't be thought of as the answer either. I'm not gonna be blind and say the team does not have alot of wholes, and there are alot of players on the team right now, who will not be on the team when I believe they'll be able to contend. Just thinking, because I respect your opinion, unlike some other people who are not open minded, if the team goes 8-8 with AJ as the starter and he struggles, what does Saban do? If the team wins inspite of the QB, there is even a bigger debate, IMO, among fans of what the team should do. The best scenario for the team is AJ winning the job and being a solid NFL Qb, who can do more than be a caretaker, but if he's just a caretaker the Phins won't be a contender, IMO. The same goes with Gus. I hate the word potential, every player in the league has potential, but if potential does not lead to productivity, than it's useless, IMO.

He just lacks "pocket awareness", there were a couple plays where I thought to myself, "man a simple, last-second step to the left or right could've avoided that". Urlacher never would've pancaked Marino like that because Dan wouldv'e just side-stepped it... I'm not asking Feeley to be Marino, but damn, step up, step to the side, have some awareness, and dont' just freaking stand there.

True. He also is probably thinking a lot about the new offense, and playing in the NFL period. He's not Marino of course, so he will need time and experience. I was hoping for a miracle, but he likely will lose the job to Gus unless things change. Feeley can throw it, it's just decision making and awareness. I thought he looked better than expected from some of the criticism I was reading. Like I said in another thread, at least when he got "de-cleated" by Urlacher, he didn't fumble or throw a bad last second pass for an INT TD. We've seen too many plays like that in the past.

When he got sacked by Urlacher he had already avoided a sack by Alex Brown coming around the outside. That had caused him to step up in the pocket like you're supposed to do. The only type of QB who could have avoided that sack is a Michael Vick/ Steve Young type who would have just started running as soon as he felt any pressure. His only option wouldve been to try to throw. He had Evans for a dump off but a defender was step for step with him. Last year he would have tried to get it to him and possibly been picked. He couldnt just throw it away since he was still inside the tackles. To me he did everything right on that play.

The other play where he threw the ball that hit the lineman's feet was a blown up screen pass where Feeley dropped back looked right only to turn around to see that the screen pass setup was blown up. A defender rushed, he got rid of the ball and avoided the sack. Once again he did everything right on that play.

The one play he might have done something better on is the pass to Chambers feet. There was a receiver on the right that seemed open but he had three options on the left and that was where he was looking. None of the three were open.
