No doubt we got younger with these moves, but our linebackers were not our problem last year by any means. Players always seem like they are better when they are playing for someone else. When you see every play, thats when you can start picking a guy a part. (Remember how much everyone loved it when we signed Dansby and Burnett?). I wonder if we won't start picking apart these recent signings too once we see these guys play every down.

They were but they were on the downside of their careers. With all the cap space to work with , it was a good time to get younger, Didn't cost us either.

They are good, and will be playing somewhere else and contributing next season. This move is not a significant talent upgrade no matter how the homers try to justify it.

It's not an upgrade it's a wash. I just hope there isn't much guarantee money on those deals we gave to Ellerbe and Wheeler. I'm a true believer of building through the draft, people that overspend on free agents only usually don't go very far. You end up in a bad cap situation and set back for years, like the Jets.

I like that Ellerbe and Reshad Jones are friends and have played together in college though. So that familiarity with each other will work out.

We had to spend money though so I understand why Ireland did it but for anyone who thinks this is an upgrade is fooling themselves. The only real upgrade we got so far is Mike Wallace.

Equal talent for less money. This frees up more room for a CB, TE, OL, or maybe a WR. These new LBs are better blitzers and force more turnovers, somethign we lacked last year. We will see how they do in coverage against the other TEs of the league.

This move saves us from having to draft linebackers for a few years assuming these guys are any good. Whats disturbing is we tried out wheeler last year apparently and decided he sucked.

We upgraded with LB's that are better blitzers and can cover better.

Burnett was getting slower and could not cover a Tight End like he used to. Dansby was to expensive for the talent provided. Skill wise I think we got an even trade off for less money, but we did gain speed which in this pass happy league and against the Patriot Tight End's is key.

I also think people need to stop looking at free agents as long term solutions. We can't cap ourselves out, we need flexibility moving forward. We can't do what that idiot GM of the Jets left them with.

Reshad Jones deserves and should get an extension before the beginning of the season. Around 5-6 million per season.

We still have no red zone playmakers. None. Hartline gets a touchdown a season and Wallace scores most of the touchdowns off of his speed and deep throws. We need Matthews to step up, take the next step. He plays a lot more physical than any of the receivers we have, especially over the middle. We need two tight ends, a duo threat like the Patriots. If we even draft one of the talents at tight ends this draft whether first or second round (very deep tight end pool), I'd feel a lot better about our offense. Keller isn't the answer though, he's a guy I'd like to sign on a one year deal.

We still need a tackle and a guard too.

There are so many holes on our team still. Still a 7-9 team at best in my eyes.

We need new players though and not just Rookies. Season Tickets sells are down as well as Single Game Tickets. Everyone is getting excited about new players = Ticket Sales
