I may be the craziest guy on this board...but I think the team will rally around this

It really is us against the world right now and basically everyone is ruling Miami out for a winning season let alone the playoffs. But this is the type of crazy situation that can bring a team closer together. A Locker room that obviously wasn't 100% ok now has basically everyone else rooting against the organization and calling them names and making accusations and wanting them to fail. Miami is just starting to get healthy, they are coming off there best win, and the 2 guys that are gone, although starters, were not having good seasons at all.

This thing could go the complete over way and that is what everyone is expecting, but the football field now becomes a sanctuary for this team a chance to prove the doubters wrong and there is only 1 way to try and sitance themselves from this story....Its win.

Tampa,San Diego,Carolina,Jets

They are all winnable games and we're going to see how close this team really is for the rest of the year. Philbin's job may be on the line and call me crazy, but I think the team rally's and makes the playoffs.

Like they said in major league....Theres only 1 thing left to do...WIN THE WHOLE GOD DAMN THING.

Well said. After losing to NE I had Miami finishing 6-10 at best. While still possible, I think this whole situation lights a fire under their beanbags that propels them to 9-7 at minimum.

i have nothing to add but note I am also a Phoenix Suns and Miami Dolphins fan!

The team plays virtually nothing but close games. If we win a good percentage of them, like early season, it can qualify as a rally and not deflation.

The key number is over 6.5. Always keep that in mind. I was disappointed Incognito lacked that focus above his locker. Perfectly acceptable to part ways.

How does a regime change have to create decades of misery. Every team in the NFL has changed regimes at some point and most dont take decades to put a winner on field.
KC just changed regime and they are 9-0. Indy changed and they are winning. There is ngthing to show that because we change a regime it will have lasting negative affect.

I believe the point was, that is how we have been handling it for the last 12 years or so and the results are very plain to see.

You know I was going to do a get real thread on this overblown topic and I would sum it all up with the same thing.

Bottom line here is this thing can make us or break us. And for a team that was headed straight down a path of mediocrity, this could actually be just what we need. This is the type of thing a team can rally around and really come together. If we handle it right, it could spring board us to a nice hot streak. Its not like we lost good players out of this. Martin and Incognito are hot garbage. While our OL has been terrible, Im glad these 2 clowns are no longer on the team. Incognito is a bum and Martin is soft. So while we are replacing them, its not like the players we put in can be much worse.

On the other hand, this thing could spiral this team out of control if it isnt careful. Its all on the players from here. Ive got a hunch this thing could be just the shot in the arm this team needed. Addition by subtraction combined with the effects of all of the media talking **** about the team. Time for these guys to come out and show them a real bully on Monday and 7 more Sundays afterwards.

haha...Well then you should be extra pumped, because the suns and there 4 2014 1st Rd picks have a very very bright future ahead of them!

Fear the Dragon!!!

Man, I hope you're right but I'm just not seeing it. Hopefully I'm wrong & the OP is correct. To salvage this season I would love to just sneak into the playoffs. Those past few losses were killer though esp the one to the Bills AT home

Depending on which Rivers shows up, I think it's a very winnable game. He has a tendency to look either like a Pro Bowl top 5 QB one game or a guy who throws 3...4 interceptions and you just want to cut the next day. Our secondary could have a feast if the front seven is able to get to him and the Chargers OLine isn't exactly formidable.

Defensively, they aren't a great team. Bottom five in fact. You always know you're in a game even if they lead by 14-17 in the first half since they have a really bad habit of choking away games where they lead big. So Cal fans are all too familiar with this inconsistent Chargers team especially when playing on the east coast.

You may want to go take a look at what Rivers is doing this season. Either that or go ask somebody.

Phillip Rivers has a shot to break the all time single season record for completion percentage. He is having an incredible season behind a new OC that has been overlooked thanks to stuff Peyton Manning and a few others are doing. Show me when he has had those 3 or 4 INT games this year. If we had Rivers, we would be a 6 or 7 win team right now.

Yet, they're still 4-4 just like us without having played a single game against Kansas City or Denver in part because of him. Of course, it's not helping that his defense can't play a lick when it really matters.

Look, I'm not saying that Rivers isn't a very good QB because he is, but he's been known to have major brain farts at the worst possible times. I know he's had two multiple pick games. One recently against the Skins and a three pick game against the Raiders. Yeah, those Raiders.

San Diego coming east ? I like our chances.

We really need to at least win 2 of the next 3 before all the division battles to come.
