I say freddie mitchell gets released soon...

I think calling a man who at best gave a team BEGGING for somebody to step up 35 catches and under 500 yards at his peak a decent #2/#3 WR is a stretch at best. Let's put it this way: in his best season, he underpeformed the very disappointing Niners receiver Brandon Lloyd. He underperformed #2 Niners WR Cedrick Wilson. He pretty much blows, has always blown, and always will blow.

Yea i didnt read the entire thread to see you caught your mistake.

I wouldnt say he blows, but I wouldnt say he is good. He is a decent WR, nothing special. He talks more than his game and I wouldnt want him on my team. thats the last thing you need going into a game, a guy who gives the other team bulletin board material and doesnt back it up.
 
im not talking about freddie starting, im talking about using him in the role that thompson has. not in the redzone where thompson can use his size, but more in the middle of the field, when we go to three and four reciever sets.

another player that may be released is peter warrick, who i see in a similar role. he, however has serious injury concerns and cannot seem to stay on the field...

The guy you want for the role you're defining is Ike Hilliard. I would heartily endorse that signing.

Are you serious????? Jesus man where have you been hiding over the last few months? Mitchell is a first round bust with a big mouth and little NFL talent. Bellichek said it best "we love it when Freddie Mitchell is on the field, he's just awefull"...

So was Desmond Howard in fact Desmond was the #4 overall but that didn't do anything for him. I guess it got him the SB MVP but that was as a return man.

Even though he's better than Thompson, I don't want him. If you talk the talk, you gotta walk the walk.
 
I will say this. Mitchell showed up for the Eagles when it mattered the most. In the playoffs with no TO. You have to give the man a little credit even though he talks bigger than his games, but hey you have to have confdence in yourself. I loved it when he thanked his hands.
