I think Feeley got a bum rap and this is why...

Feeley got a fan-farking-tastic deal. He was a third stringer who got pulled out of a team where he would never be a starter, got a big raise and a chance to be a starter.

The guy got one hell of a break, and shat the bed. "Bum rap" my ***.

LOL

Until watching him in the last preseason game I also thought that he had a bum wrap. After watching that game he deserves a bum wrap. He had ample time to throw the ball, he had recievers wide open, and he kept underthrowing the ball. He had his one chance to come out and play lights out and take the starting job. He came out and stuck so bad they dropped him to 3rd string.

He shows signs of being a good play but, hell so did Ryan Leaf and any other bust you can talk about. Consistancy is what matters, and that he has none of.

AJ needs to look at a 42 year old named Jerry Rice and a QB that is the Best in the game and ask himself the questions: What do they do/have that I do not?

Talent? Yes, not to say AJ does not, just not yet.
Why? Regardless of being the best at their position, they both work harder than anyone else to be better. Manning went out and bought the best equipment to watch film on that money could buy when he got his first contract. He is a study freak. Mannnig works all off season and after practice w/ the receivers and backs to get the timing and continuity down. All of these things show everyone around them that they want to be great. AJ on the other hand seems to feel(no pun intended) that what he has is good enough and if he has to hold a clip board then so be it!

If you want the gig back, go out and take it! Work 10 times harder than Gus in practice, and after. Watch film to make the reads and when Gus makes a bad read, let him know what he should have done. If he did these things he would be a starter.

He does not and that is why he will always be 3rd fiddle!

The title of this thread should be "I think Feeley is a bum, that's a wrap". I want him back in at QB about as much as I want to be married to my ex-wife again.

your right because theres a very good chance that if we had handed AJ the job from day 1, gave him all the neccessary reps to learn the new offense, he probably wouldn't be 3rd string right now. He'd be starting and playing pretty well like the end of last year.

First, I just joined and just posted a long introduction letter. I'm also an Eagles fan, but I didn't join your board to bust anyone's chops or anything like that. I love talking football--good constructive conversation.

At any rate, I believe that when Spielman acquired Feeley, he really believed he could be a good QB--the trouble is, Wannstadt had too much allegience to Fiedler. In 2001, Feely came on for the Birds in a meaningless game against the Bucs at the end of the season. They were down by 10 with about 5 minutes left and Donnie Abraham was still in the game for the Bucs--at that time, he was a starting corner. Feeley drove the Birds down TWICE in the closing minutes to win 17-13.

In 2002, when McNabb and Detmer got hurt, he came on and went 4-1. The only loss was an OT loss to the Giants that should have been a win, except that David Akers missed a 35 yard FG in regulation and Feeley threw a questionable INT (Brandon Short absolutely mugged Chad Lewis) and the Giants won.

The rap on AJ was that he wasn't much of a practice player, but could do well in games.

When Saban took over and hired Linehan, it wasn't much of a secret that they were going after Frerotte. That had to erode Feeley's confidence even more.

The question you have to ask yourselves is this: How did this guy go 4-1 for a team that lost it's leader in the middle of a playoff run and then crap out in the space of 2 seasons?

Hahah Feeley supporters making fake Eagle fan accounts...........now that is cute..............

By the way, to answer your question he went 4-1 because he didn't have to do anything but "not lose" the game when he played for the Eagles because they were so good all-around him..........awesome D.........awesome O-line....... true team chemistry........

nice try... but he is a unique poster. His IP has never been used on this site before, and it resolves to a valid ISP.

Welcome aboard.

But if you love AJ so much, please, have eagles management give us a day 2 pick or something.
