Martin having the messages stashed away for seven months is telling. His Mom is a lawyer, so maybe he thought he could get something out of this. He makes a public display, then the story blows up in the media, and he is there to scoop up cash at the end. He knew it was not working out and he would likely be cut this year or the next. He gets cut before year 4 and there goes his pension. This might have all been an angle to sue either the team or the league. How can you go out around town and smooch it up with a guy that you think is going to harm you.
 
agreed...do you get a pension for being on the scout team?

truthfully I dont think he is strong enough physically to play LT in the NFL...if he had gotten stronger and better he as a left tackle would be up for a huge pay day in a few years...the fact that he didnt get much stronger in the off season screams he doesnt love or want the NFL life...

would have been so much better if this distraction was going on in new england or new york...always miami...
 
Eh, I think thats a stretch. I have a VM I kept from 2.5 years ago when I got my offer from my current job. Also, if I got a threatening VM from someone I would definitely keep it. Especially a VM from someone who said they were going to punch my mother.

Seriously, Im not sure how some on this board can focus on JM keeping a GREATLY threatening VM without even questioning how or why RI could send the VM in the first place.

As far as smoozing it up, maybe he was trying to fit in with RI and thought by hanging out with him any abuse would stop, or maybe JM was in on alot of the same things RI was doing. Who knows.
 
Agree but incognito should be smart enough not to leave recordings even if he was joking which I think he was that was a dumb move you never know who ur messing with (baby back bitch Martin). Incognito was joking around with the wrong person lol it's amazing how things happen
 
I do feel like Martin is starting to less like a victim. A lot of players have come to Incognito's defense and that doesn't add up if this was an open and shut case.
 
anything is possible... even RI just being overzealous moron and Martin just having a serious mental health issue
 
I never clean up the voice mails on my iPhone...I still have some from over a year ago. I don't think he was saving them, just never deleted them. I'm thinking Martin was seeing a therapist and he or she probably said that Incognito was detrimental to his health. The therapist probably recommended that Martin report this because it would only get worse. I think the voice mail was left by Incognito in a drunken state just joking around with Martin. This could explain why we have seen pictures of them hanging out since the voice mail. We all have that friend that likes to push people's buttons and Martin's was Cog. He may have gone too far, but that is what happens when no one says anything and just keeps it all bottled up inside. I could be completely wrong, but it's just a theory.
 
What "cash" exactly is there at the end of this?

I don't see how he can win money unless they prove the Dolphins knew about all of this and did nothing about it. If the Dolphins weren't told about any of what was going on with Martin and him/his parents doctored audio/video of Philbin talking and then they set him up sting-style, it's all moot.
 
He has two rich parents and could still find a backup job with ease...

Yet you think hes going to make a play for some small time cash.
 
If one of my coworkers every left me a VM like that, yeah, I would save it.
 
This money grab thing is such a stretch. He was a starting tackle in the league there is no way he would make more moey off this than he would already make. This goes beyond not making sense.
For Incognito to be set up did he actually steal Incognito's phone to send these messages faking his voice or his texts lol
