I think those changes worked on the O line

If you ever make it to Southern California, you got a place to watch the game. In the meantime, why don't you try to hook up with some of the Dolphin Brotherin in your area?

nope. i don't get to see the dolphins at all this year. i was pretty bummed when i found out they got no primetime slots. i was expecting it but i was still hoping. Oh well, back to following it on nfl.com's gamecast.
If you can't hook up with a fellow Dolphin fan to watch the games, let me know, maybe I can tape them for you, and mail them to you. Let me know If I can help! That is what Finheaven is about, helping fellow brotherin, and sisterin when we can!:drinkers:

Bro, there is no extreme when you are talking about The Miami Dolphins. If you want me to tape them let me know.

To my fellow Dolphin fans reading this it would take 4-5 days for me to mail to PA, if you are closer, and could help a fellow Dolphin fan, please hook up if you can!:drinkers: Keep in touch if need to tape it I can to a vcr tape if you have a player!

Also an excellent point regarding the deep pass drops. I posted here a week or two ago that our tackles were taking very shallow drops. Then I looked again and concluded it wasn't really a case of shallow drops, just shallow drops in comparison to the depth of the pass drops. Frerotte, in particular, seems to prefer the deep drops. The DE can have basically a straightline to the QB off the OT's outside shoulder if the QB drops deep enough.

Thanks for the props. My biggest issue with the deep drops from QB is exactly what you stated - that the tackles need to also take deeper drops to stop that outside rush and really get there quickly which throws off their balance/momentum. My concern with that is the tackles become so much more susceptable to the inside moves that it could be devastating to the health of our Qbs, not to mention unfairly makes our tackles look bad. A couple of effective inside moves from the DEs and we will never see our Qb step-up in the pocket again. I hope Houck has some words with the Qbs to explain to them how much more effective the pass protection could be if they don't drop as deep.

Just a thought, I am no football coach, but maybe we can have some planned rollout plays to get the quarterback out of the pocket on a roll out to by some time every once in a while, to keep the defense off guard?

Let me guess, the only game you missed last year was the second Patriot's game?

I dont think that we have seen all of the offense yet. Im sure Scott has more up his sleeve. I agree that would help buy some time and also let the routes open up.

I would love that and I think they actually started to set that up the other night. They had that first play with the lineman pulling and pitched back opposite way to Ricky for 11 yds. That will keep the ends sitting at home more next time thinking it was the same play. I don't now if Gus is the guy to run a rollout well though. I think he might not sit down to throw once he rolled out and he isn't good throwing on the run. I love the rollout plays though. Also love the naked bootleg but am positive Gus is not the guy to do that with. Maybe AJ, but I still doubt it.

I think this will have to be in for some of the plays, and AJ is better suited for this. I just don't want the defenses to know what spot they are rushing to get to, and the quarterback will be there waiting. I know this asks a lot of teh olinemen, but it may work until they can gel together, and give Aj more time to look down field.

Good point, Scott has not even let the cat out of the bag. I think to do the roll out will help the vertical game, plus to see what the receivers can do with the yards after the catch. It will be an interesting year on offense.

As an ex-Olineman, I used to love those rollout plays. I think it puts the weakside defenders at a serious disadvantage because the angle to the QB is so much more defined and now they all have to take that same angle. The problem is blocking the strong side so if your strong side linemen, fullback and TE are good blockers, that can be a very effective play. I think Hadnot and Carey will do great at that along with Evans so as long as McMike is blocking well, which I think he usually does, it will work well for the Fins rolling to the right.
