I understand Tannehill not being signed yet. but Egnew and Vernon??!!!

Just another way to avoid blaming Jeff Ireland for anything bad.

As opposed to ways to make Jeff Ireland look like he's to blame, even when he isn't?

Like for instance... tweeting out complete rank speculation that Philbin desperately wanted to sign Matt Flynn, but Ireland "sabotaged" the Flynn contract offer on purpose, as if it were bald fact? <---- A conspiracy theory directly contradicted by owner Steve Ross, in easily referenced quotes BTW.

So that would be the opposite of this... right?

The general manager isnt to blame for not completing contract negotiations for players the general manager selected in the draft?

Um, ok.

Of course he is. Are you intentionally misreading my comment... or do you just not understand it?

As of right now, Ireland hasn't failed to get his picks into camp as camp doesn't start for another few days. I would be SHOCKED if Vernon and Egnew miss any camp time. I also believe that Tannehill will either be there day one or at least by day two.

I agree 100%. However, if they aren't in camp... Ireland will be the responsible party. The buck stops there.

My question to CK was in another direction....

As CK characterizes repeating what has been stated in several mainstream media reports on the situation: that Dawn Aponte, the Dolphins "cap guru", is insisting on the offset language in Tannehills contract... is simply a method for avoiding blaming Jeff Ireland for the situation.

I asked IF... someone tweeting out complete rank speculation that Joe Philbin desperately wanted to sign Matt Flynn, but Ireland "sabotaged" the Flynn contract offer on purpose, as if it were bald fact? <---- A conspiracy theory directly contradicted by owner Steve Ross.... would be the opposite of that characterization. Namely, seeking to blame Jeff Ireland, where its unclear any blame exists... and what evidence there is, directly contradicts blaming Ireland?

I don't give a damn who we blame, just get the fricken players signed before practice begins at 8:00 a.m. on July 27th.

LOL I agree functionally... that's the only important thing, as far as supporting the Dolphins is concerned.

However, there's a principle involved in my question... and I'd like an answer from CK, if possible.

Chances are they'll all get signed in the last couple days. The players really have no leverage over the Dolphins ... we ain't goin' no where with or without them!!

Rookies who've held out long have mostly gotten THEIR early careers screwed up ... which will hurt them ALOT MORE along with the Dolphins.

I surely am not worried 2 cents about Rook signings ... I've got bigger things to worry about, NAMELY ... new inexperienced coach, new system, new D coach, new O coach, no set QB, drivel WRs, no Safeties, porous DB, & more. Sign Rooks & get into camp ... otherwise YOU are on your own!! lol

if vernons close that's great news...he's critical to supplementing our pass rush this year...we need him there from jump...egnew should just take what we're offering cause i doubt he's gonna earn it in this league...ha ha

Cleveland Browns (2): First-round running back Trent Richardson (No. 3 overall) and quarterback Brandon Weeden (No. 22 overall). Browns rookies report Tuesday, veterans Thursday.
lol what's the deal with the browns? can't even sign thier two first round picks. who's their cap guru anyway. sheesh.
