The product out there is not very good. It appears we have stayed the same instead of improving.
You don't seem to understand. You attack me when I am actually attacking no one. You can say what you want, but I've been watching the Miami Dolphins for a long time. Win or lose, they haven't been consistently filling the stadium for quite some time. You blame the economy and demographics? Okay, so (from a business perspective) you would be supporting my idea. People can't afford football there? Why would you try to sell a product in an area that (according to you) cannot afford it? I have no problem with the fans. People who can afford it and wish to go will go. It is their right one way or the other. But if people do not go, perhaps a change of venue would be better for the business known as the Dolphins. I watch my Dolphins win or lose. I would love them no matter what city they represented. Can you say the same? There have been worse teams that have consistently filled their stadiums. Perhaps Miami is not the place. Heck, move 100 miles away and continue to call them the Miami Dolphins for all I care. Just be somewhere that more people will attend. I am not attacking people for their choice. I am simply pointing out that maybe Miami isn't the best town to fill a stadium. If you can watch the game today, consider the economy and demographics or Florida, and still be stunned people arent showing up in droves, then nobody here can help you see it. Just sit back in your chair in Virginia, watch the games (or not for all I care) and stop whining like a ***** about the locals.
I'm talking about filling seats with home team fans. Can Miami do it? If they are winning, it still may be too hot for most fans to show up. Winning won't change the temperature. Or maybe the tickets will still cost too much. Winning won't fix bank accounts or give locals raises. Maybe a move would provide opportunity for others to show up. If they moved 100 miles north, would die hard faithful Miami Dolphins game attendees continue to show up? I'd bet most of them would. The move would allow others to be closer as well. Heck, maybe less Jets fans would show up to the Jets games. That would be an improvement in itself.
I want to but won't attack you, but I'll respond to your post. The Dolphins deserve having empty stands, they suck at home. Why pay $70- $100 to watch someone lose while you sweat your butt off? I can tell you're not from Miami. It's hot and humid here and there is no reason to dump money into a losing project. This team is pitiful, simple and plain and doesn't deserve to be supported. This isn't the same team I fell in love with as a kid, but a shell of it's former greatness.
So we can agree then that this would possibly be a smart move?Within Florida, yea, a move would be great. If they could get a stadium near Palm Beach County, attendance would be better.
A city is where it is. I'm not blaming the people. I'm saying that a move may be the better business decision based on the factors presented. There would be empty seats at any stadium for a team that hasn't won a playoff game in a decade. Blaming the city is so short-sighted.
