I would totally support a move

It would be a horrible business decision. Save your alligator tears for Ross and realize that he makes money no matter which fanbase is buying the tickets. Ross makes the same 50 bucks whether a Pats, Jets, Bills, Dolphins, or a Texans fans buy a ticket. Hell, Ross SELLS tickets to opposing fans--it's all green. Giving up this transplant money not to mention a Super Bowl every 4 years or so is the definition of a bad business decision. But go ahead, move these losers out of here, see how many "real fans" show up to watch these losers in LA, lol
So are you seriously telling me that you think he wouldn't rather see the stands filled with Dolphins fans? Are you telling me that having a greater percentage of Dolphins fans would not have ANY impact on games what so ever?

I love when people who DO NOT LIVE in Miami talk like if they know anything about the city. I will explain it to you all barney style.

1) Miami Dolphins are oldest pro sports team in Miami (biggest Following)
2) Miami Filled with people from Cuba, Islands, Central America, South America
3) People from #2 did not grow up watching football or american sports
4) Miami Filled with people who hate thier original cities because of cold or high costs (IE: Chcago, New York)
5) People from #4 grew up watching other teams like Bills, Jets, Patriots Ect...Thus rooting for other teams
6) Who is left??? Those who were born in Miami who's parents are NOT #4
7) Sure some of the kids of #2 will be fans but they will most likely never have gone to the game with father as a kid (few exeptions)

Do you somewhat understand now???? Do you see why MIAMI is one of the wierdest cities and has some of the worst fans ever? The teams are sort of new and most fans did not grow up watching the teams from an early age. Other cities have a few generations of head start and when they come to a city like miami the kids grow up watching and liking the team that daddy/mommy likes.
You do realize that everything you just said supports my point as to why a move may be a good thing, right? Thanks for supporting my point with your "Barney style" explanations. LoL That's kind of like getting into a fight and knocking yourself out. Way to go.

True. But your bound to win fans, even if their parents aren't, due to WINNING.

The situations you pose aren't new. They've always been around but the difference back then was we were winning.

Now, can you honestly say those kids whose parents have transplanted here recently want to go to high school and hear how the Dolphins SUCK? I remember hearing this back in the day and we were 12-4 in 1992! Can you imagine now? Jesus....

Odds are they will say, "I am not a Dolphins fan, I am from <insert city> and am a fan of the <insert team>." Another possible Dolphins fan in south FLA bites the dust.

Until we start winning and hence, win over new fans....we will not be a majority.

A city is where it is. I'm not blaming the people. I'm saying that a move may be the better business decision based on the factors presented.

So you see empty seats and think "The Miami Dolphins aren't a valuable sports franchise?" The Dolphins are one of the most popular sports teams in the country. And guess what? That creates revenue for the NFL AND its teams. Moving them would be EXTREMELY high risk to just down right stupid.

Basically what I'm saying is... You don't know ****. No offense.

Why on earth would you make a move NOW?? Just when we have this team headed where we need to be heading, going into a game next week that could vault us into the lead, why would you make a change?? If we can find a way to lose in Cleveland next week we will be one of the clear favorites in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. And one of the other leaders will be the colts. There is a pretty good chance that if indy has the first overall pick they would not take a QB. They might, but if anyone had the pick besides us I would want it to me the panthers and the colts.
Why would you want to make a change that might light a fire under this team and turn them around. Imagine the leverage we would have to get whatever coach we wanted if we had the number one overall pick. hmmm!!!

What I'm saying is, is the situation is not nearly as bad in Miami in order to even consider a move. It's all hot smoke for those who feel emabrassed because the locals don't show up to watch a team who has now lost, what, 11 of their last 12 home games? Even so, people are buying seats. To Ross it doesn't matter whether those fans are Dolphins fans or opponents fans. Of course you'd like to see the majority of your own fans, but everyone's money is green.

On the subject of the "12th man", yes it's an edge. But not even nearly as an edge as having a legitimate home edge in your weather environment which we have voluntarily surrendered.

I almost hope this piece of s*** organization relocates the team so I won't have to associate with these f***ing idiots year in and year out. I'll gladly support the next team that comes to Miami but I won't spend a goddamn cent on this team until they get their heads out of their *****. So sick of watching the same garbage I've for a motherf***ing decade. I can only hope Stephen Ross sees the empty stands and takes it as an indicator that huge changes must be made. I chose not to get season tickets this season even though I would have no problem paying for them. Not regretting that decision in the slightest.

Yes What he said. Sorry but a lot of Miami area people don’t support this team, so to hell with them. Move the team to Daytona Beach or Orlando that way it is at least they are in a tourist attraction area and they can sell out. Also don’t give me this losing season crap excuse. I live in Ohio and the Browns and Bengal’s both suck, but they have no problem selling out there home games. The reason for this is simple there fans give a ****. So yes I am not from South Florida so I don’t know about the complex issues concerning why the South Florida fans don’t have any backbone and support their team, and frankly I don’t give a flying French fry!!! Sell out or move the team where they will be appreciated!! Also remember back in 2001 when the Fins could barely sell out a home playoff game.....?????Funkin Pathetic!!!!!!!!!

We dont need the team to move, we need it to WIN.

When you lose all but 1 home game in your last 12, people arent going to pay to see that ****. Its that simple.

How can somebody be on a MIAMI DOLPHINS fansite saying that they shouldn't exist anymore? This thread should be burned and buried.

Other NFL crappy teams sell out Bills, Browns, Bengals, Broncos……hmm they all start with the letter B lol

Watching empty stands sucks. Y'all can dislike me for saying that if you like, but I'm sick of seeing other teams pack the stadium. Hell, move closer my way so I can attend a bunch of games. It's sad when the commentator says there are more fans along the Dolphins sideline than in the stands. This is not a knock to the folks that faithfully attend or those who cannot afford to go to a game. I just want to see a packed house of Dolfans for a change, and I know I am not alone.

You expect people to patronize a product that is awful? You don't go back to restaurants where the food is bad. You don't purchase things from stores that rip you off. The Dolphins aren't entitled to anyone's entertainment dollars. American living standards have been sliding for decades now and cheap money and speculative bubbles sort of insulated us from that reality, now circumstances are different and things are tough and will remain so for a very long time. The dollars that people have to spend on entertainment will continue to shrink and those scarce funds that do exist shouldn't be spent patronizing an organization that has not earned the money. I'll spend my money on overpriced Miami Heat tickets first. It costs $40 to take a date to a movie now. A family of four at Disney World will cost $360 just to get in the front door. There are many ways to spend what few entertainment dollars people have, the Dolphins aren't one I'd recommend.

It's just a fact that the longer a team puts bad product on the field the more likely the fan base is to become estranged from the team. This is just natural. People get feed up with the losing, especially fans that feel entitled to more than that. This isn't Tampa, this isn't Detroit. Over a period of time people will just stop caring. To be honest, I used to cry after Dolphin losses, of course, back then, losses were rare and I was much younger. Then as the years passed and the losing and mediocrity became a blur, I stopped going to games, then I stopped watching the games on television and discovered there was more to life on a Sunday afternoon then NFL football. At this point I record the games and often I will erase them without watching. I've become numb to the losses and truth be told, while I wish them well every Sunday, I've started to drift away and once that happens, it can kill a franchise. The Fins' fans are drifting away. We've already got a heavily transient population in South Florida and those transients often bring their devotion to other franchises with them to Miami, so the Miami area always starts out behind the eight ball when it comes to the opposing fans in the stands.
