If Aponte was a Man?

not qualified is not qualified...she's not qualified

I think she is qualified to work in a NFL Front Office, but maybe not qualified to direct player personnel. But you never know, she might have been telling Ross all along that Jordan, Dallas Thomas, etc... were bad picks.

she's not qualified to oversee or make decisions on personnel or draft...it's a joke really...so any gm or head of personnel post is rediculous...she has zero credentials for any of it

Aponte is making business decisions, so I have no problem with her at all. She's done a good job with the cap, and she has set the precedent for offsetting contract language and now half the league copies her. Now if she were making football decisions, I would have a problem with it because she's never been a player or coach on any level, but it has nothing to do with her gender.

fine let her make business decisions...she's shown she's qualified for that and contracts etc...but don't tell me that chick knows how to evaluate free agents and prospects and how to fit them to a system and eliminate them if not etc

cause i'm not hearing that bs...i doubt she knows how to assess a market value on a player also...that probably comes down to her from someone else...but i can see that possibility i guess

Exactly. Her field is financial with a law background, actually I am surprised she isn't a corporate lawyer for a 500 company to be honest.

You make more money in private companies

If she gets this job, it may be good for the team to have an ally in the castle.

Scott Pioli and Dawn Aponte are strong candidates for the position of vice president of football operations position at the NFL office, and Merton Hanks is an internal candidate to replace Ray Anderson, sources say.

Ray Anderson is departing the position following the Super Bowl, and the NFL does not yet have finalists for the impending vacancy, but the process is ongoing and Pioli and Aponte are among those being evaluated for the position.

part of the reason is the league is run by male dinosaurs set in their ways...i have no problem with it as it is what it is...in fact it's a mens game so i can see where that would be the case...she's found her nitch she can advance to a certain point within it...but don't give her a post to be first at something she's completely and utterly not qualified for...

not with my team...crunch cap numbers and play hard ball on contracts all you want...but don't even think about making decisions on who plays for my football team

I don't care what she is as long as she is qualified for the position and does a good job.
