If Daniel Thomas Makes this team.....

Don't underestimate that Patriot defense. The defense was key in their Super Bowl victories and it appears that they have the talent to have their best defense since their last ring.

He averaged 2.9 yards per carry against backups. That puts the icing on it. Another great pick by Ireland. Trading up in the second round to get him. I hated the pick the moment it was made.

Hooshoops and a few others on here called it too. Ridiculous how a lot of us here have been better GMs than a guy who did it as a job.

Imo. Thigpen will be moved back to RB and will be the return guy. Williams will be #6 receiver and Darkwa to practice squad. Thomas is gone.

If we need Thomas to beat NE we are in bad shape. We need the "Explosive offense" Joe has been talking about since he's been here. Here's to hoping it has finally arrived in time for Sept. 7th.

I don't think so dude... Williams has showed alot more talent and intangibles than thomas ever has in 3 years. Thomas does not make the roster. He better not anyway

I would be shocked if he does. Well then again it's the Dolphins. Nothing surprises me anymore.

The Daniel Thomas hate is at record high levels LOL. I can't imagine why anyone would be so excited about getting rid of a 3rd string RB. It's almost completely irrelevant to whether or not the team wins...

I'm sure Daniel Thomas is a very nice guy, and he's doing what he can.

He is an average, at best, RB.

I am tired of average. I hope the Dolphins are, too.

I wish DT the best of luck in his next stop in life.

fist off, I don't disagree with anyones retort. I've said many times d. Thomas gone.

but if your honest, why would any coaching staff rely on any rookie to handle a simple task of blocking? that's not what they've been practicing. so the biggest game of the year, knowing BB is bringing 5-6 guys many times you would rely on undrafted rookie for fist game? don't know about you, I wouldn't bank on that.

I am not defending Thomas here. only saying I put in the tape of the new England game in dec.

Daniel Thomas was key. that's why he still has supporters within the coaching staff. D. Thomas scored the key TD in that game and did it on a bum ankle.

Daniel Thomas is not in Knowshon Moreno's league as a pass blocker or protecting the QB from a blitz. Knowshon is deceptively strong.

how do you know? you notice him vs. dallas pass blocking?

I want Williams to make the team though. that's not what I'm saying.

we could dump Daniel Thomas after game 4 if need be. just thinking that DT knows this team (pats) better than knowshown does or any wide eyed
rookie.

Knowshon played the Patriots twice last season, just like Daniel Thomas. And he had higher stakes on the line for one of them. The Broncos managed to win the game that mattered without to many problems.

Roster spots are valuable, keeping a bad player just so he can do a single part of his job(a part he doesnt do well anyways) isnt a good idea. Especially when we have someone already on the roster who can do that single relatively unimportant job better.

Daniel Thomas should not collect another dime from this team, hes already been well paid for doing a bad job as it is. Just like the vast majority of the decisions he made during his tenure, Jeff Ireland screwed up. Daniel Thomas is a bust.

Its because he is still the best pass blocking RB we have and he is reliable in passing game in open field.

He sucks between the tackles.

But we may need him in regards to NE. The coaches know what they have in that regard. They may not know what they have in that regard with the others.

Just saying based on a rewatch of last years NE game in Miami.

Also, thinking we have improved as a team much more than NE in offseason. Their defense is the same. 31st in rush defense when we went up against them. Wilfork wont be as nasty with that achilles people.

They will get Wright involved in passing game because they know we are on to that offense better than anyone else. I look for him in the red zone.

Have a great weekend everyone! Goin to the lake! buh bye

He's a good pass blocker if the rusher comes to the side he is on. He is too stupid to identify consistently, but physically can pass block if he happens to be in the right spot. That gets your QB killed as much as Miller just being too non physical.
