That is complete BS. Even 10 wins is pushing it, but if Denver wins, that means that Philly game mean't nothing anyways.

Yeah, but at least at 11-5, we would have a legitamite beef with the league and could have some argument there. The fact is, we didn't go 11-5, we may still only go 9-7. At least this way we can clena house and start anew without visions of grandiuer(sp?)

if denver would have lost last week and this week and we would have won at bills which we did and with ny then we would have been in

Ya, with 10 wins. With the old system, 10 win teams hardly ever got left out. It was VERY rare. Now it is becoming more normal.

The way the AFC powerhouse is performing these last few years you need at least 11 wins to even make a 6th or 5th seed.

GOOO FIIINZ

:cooldude:

under the old system.....we would be in.....we would also have needed to win the philly game FOR A HOME GAME IN THE PLAYOFFS..........

yes, this new playoff system F''D us.

It is very rare that a team with 10 wins gets left out of the playoffs. 10 wins gets you in almost every year.

We should send Tennesse or Indianapolis over to the NFC for the Bears or Lions, or maybe both. That way, the divisions could be a lot more even.

that would only be short term. Once the Lions and Bears got better, the Colts and Titans may be on a down spiral, putting us in the exact same position we were in before. The thing about this league is as long as you play your cards right, you'll be on top again. Lets see how our hand plays out next year

The NFL puts way to much importance on winng a division. It's possible, and it will happen one season, that a sub .500 team wins it's division, gets in the playoffs as no worse than a 4th seed, meanwhile teams with better records are either 5th or 6th seeds or not making the playoffs. The NFL should seriously consider seeding each conference according to record. If all 4 teams in a particular division make it, so be it. No team should be automatically given a playoff spot and a 4th seed for playing in and winning a crappy division.

Yeah, your definately right on that. The Titans are going to be a bad team once their leader, Air McNair retires. And I also like what I am seeing from Rex Grossman. If Chicago fires Dick Jauron for not getting into the playoffs that would be a horrible move. How can you expect to get into the playoffs with Kordel Stewart as your starting QB.

I know. They should have straight seeds. 6 seeds in order of record. Winning your division means nothing if it sucks.

That's just outright ludicrous to think a team winning it's division should not get in.

If they did this, they'd just have to get rid of divisions because they'd mean nothing anyway. Just have the 16 teams from each conference play and let the top 6 in.

The regular season matters, we didn't win the games we needed to win. Pure and simple, we're not in the playoffs because of ourselves. Not because someone screwed us, because we lost more games than other teams and/or played in a division that was tougher than some.

It doesn't have to be a level playing field in each division. Poor teams beat good teams every week in the NFL so that takes away the argument of being at a disadvantage because a few years we've been in a tough division. We'd have to beat good teams to do anything in the playoffs anyway.

Instead of whining to teh league, why not hope for better next year and maybe the team actually winning more games than other teams.

Otherwise, we're not any good anyway and don't deserve to be in the playoffs. We're not as good as the Bronco's anyway.

Sounds like a lot of bitterness. I don't think anyone would be complaining if the Dolphins had actually made the playoffs. No one would give a crap about the teams that didn't make it then. Just like no one (outside the organization and fanbase) gives a crap about the Dolphins not making it right now.

I said it was stupid before the divisions were split. What a dumb idea.
