If Dolphins trade down with Dallas, Tannehill will be gone

What I don't get is no one on here thinks Thill isn't worth our pick though 4 teams right after us would take him. How can he not be worth it?

Trading down with Dallas would be a huge risk....Tannehill won't get past Seatle at 12!

Yes and no. Yes it is a huge risk if you are 100% sold on the fact that he is your franchise, but no if you think he is a year or two away. This front office doesn't see it as anything but an equation. If he isn't worth the 8th overall then you trade back and hope he is there. If he isn't that is fine, just take someone that is worth the spot you are now in. Ireland has shown time and time again that he is gonna stick to his plan, for better or worse. IMO his plan works great in every area but QB. You can't draft QB using the same grades as you do other players because everyone puts a higher grade on QBs. You MUST overspend for QBs or you will never get one, which has been the case in this franchise for the last 30 years.

If Dallas is willing to trade, then it´s a no-brainer. Tannehill isn´t worth of 8. Just grab as many picks as possible, even better if those are 2nd round picks. Get a lot af talent this year, and sell the farm next year for the QB if necessary.

Picks 10, 11, 12, 13 are Bills, Chiefs, Seahawks, Cardinals.

An argument could be made that all of those teams could pick a QB. I really feel like one of those 4 would take him before the Dolphins would pick at 14.

If he is your guy, take him at 8 and be done with it.

I think Dallas is a dark horse for Tannehill, though I don't think they would trade up for him.

Point being, you don't know who is willing to gamble on their QB of the future. If Miami likes him, they need to take him and stop trying to get cute. If they don't like him, why would you take him at 15, let alone 8.

Take Matt Barkley a true franchise QB not a project in Tannehill, trade our first this year and get a 2nd, 3rd, and someone next year first rounder. Than trade one of the 3rd rounders for Osi. Leaving us with two first rounders next year for ammunition in case we win too many games to be out ofposition.

Bad plan.....nuff said!

You don't trade down if you think he is your franchise QB. It's that simple. If you think he is then you take him at 8 and if you don't think he is then you don't draft him in the first round. Period. It's ridiculous for people to think you try and get more value by trading down and drafting him six spots later. You don't trade down if he is the man and you don't draft him in the first at all if he is not.

If you want him take him at 8. Reports in Buffalo is if he is there at 10 he will be picked by the Bills

which would then signal ryan fitzaptrick and his large contract sucks. lol then buddy nix would still be another player away from the big dance! lol

well yeah but if you think no one else really wants him and are just talkin BS....which i think they are, cus why would he be a reach at 8 but ok at 12????? okie dokie

It would be a risk, but I think Tannehill may still be there if the Fins traded down with (#14)Dallas or (#15)Philadelphia. The Bills signed Fitzpatrick to an extension last season. I don't think Pioli or Crennel are in a position to take a rookie QB with KC. Seattle just signed Flynn and the Cardinals have Kolb and Skelton, I doubt they would look to another young, unproven arm. I have never believed the stories that the Eagles were that interested in Tannehill. You would have to worry that another team (the Browns) would trade up but I think it could actually work. And it would kill the media and half of all Finheaven members if Ireland traded down, picked up another 2nd round pick and still drafted Tannehill! I would love it!

I agree. If we dont take him at #8 he will get to #22 AT LEAST. IMO this is what happens, the value just isn't there at #8.

Really??? ...and you think Barkley is an instant starter???? Don't kid yourself...90% of all rookie QB's are projects...with only few exceptions (Marino, Cam Newton)...the rest REALLY struggle if thrown in too soon.

So good news if we trade with Dallas then? Hope the Browns take him or any one but the dolphins take him.

im surprised how many of you want Jimmy Clausen 2.0 might as well trade with the panthers right now

If the Dolphins trade down with Dallas it is a gamble...but worth it IMO....I like Tannehill...but would be just as satisfied with an pass rusher and Weedon. To me if we don't come away with either Tannehill or Weedon...the draft is an epic fail...and Ireland screwed this franchise AGAIN!

we should totally trade down then if thats the case.... I dont see the crazy hype about tannehill.... hes not that good guys. Yeah we need a QB but he is not the guy and is not worth a top 8 pick. Trade back pick up an extra 2 and 4th or 5th and pick up a good pass rusher at 14 or floyd at 14 and on day two u will have 4 picks to try to get good players that can come in and produce for us early. 2 wrs a TE and a OT with those 4 picks and we have filled most of our holes with good to decent players.

i really think tannehill will be a bust and i dont know how others dont see it. He will take atleast 1-2 years to be ready to start and even then it might not be enough.

Did you forget that we have Sherman who has been known to breed Quarterbacks. Oh and Philbin coached these guys called Rodgers and Flynn. I trust this organization will make the right call on Tannehill and develop him
