If Gus Ferrotte is our starter..I will kill myself.

I don't think Frerotte will actually start. He'll have a chance, but he has no upside. We know what we have. It's like Fiedler. Feeley, on the other hand, could blossom. I also think that straight-up, Feeley would win out a competition (depending of course on his practice performance, which I hear is inferior to game-time).

PS: Hey, we had a fallen FinFan brother who took his own life a few years ago. It's not a terribly insensitive thread title, but you could have chosen your words better.
 
You have to give Gus some credit. The last time he actually played he played very well. He has a much much better arm than Fiedler & can throw the deep ball extremely well. Now if Linehan uses Chambers much like he did Moss then we shouldn't have a problem.

BTW, props to me for saying that we'd sign Frerotte back at the end of December.

We all know AJ Feeley is about a 50/50 shot at being a good QB or a total POS....but at least there is potential there....if Gus gets the start over Feeley...we kill Feeley's confidence completely.

I have to tell you...we might not have any fans next year..

Half the fans will kill themselves if we don't draft a QB at #2
Half the fans will kill themselves if we don't draft a RB at #2
Half the fans will kill themselves if we trade Jason Taylor
Half the fans will kill themselves if we trade Zach
Half the fans will kill themselves if we trade Surtain
Half the fans will kill themselves if we don't get a #2 for him
Half the fans will kill themselves if we sign Tebucky Jones
Half the fans will kill themselves if we go to a 3-4
Half the fans will kill themselves if we stay in a 4-3
So at this rate we should have about 3 fans at each game
Why don't we just enjoy the ride...remember when football was fun???? :)

Ferrotte better not start. And Saban better not do that split practice BS that Wannestadt did either.

Give me a freakin' starter, who shows promise and isn't a player in the twilight of his career.

If I see a headline that Ferrotte is the starter, it will dissolve any hope I had of Saban actually making the right decisions for the future of the team.

Wait so Gus exceling in Linehan's system while AJ sucked fudge here is a joke? I dont get it? Aj is the 1 who's proven he cant handle being a good starter and is the worst f'n qb in the history of mankind. Gimme a break

i half-heartedly agree.

but i do think if frerotte out-plays feeley in TC, why not start him? thats the only reason Saban would start frerotte - if he outplays feeley.

for all we know this could be the perfect system and environment for frerotte... it could not but it also could be. you never know.

i trust saban's judgement on this one. the best QB will be starting. if they both suck, i'll run around here all day telling everyone "i told you so" about not drafting a QB with the #2 overall pick (which i STILL Think we should do...)

I'm not bashing Gus or anything. But if he is our starter then our QB situation flat out sucks.
