I'm wondering, all things being equal, if McCoy's age will be the determining factor. He's only 39 whereas Zimmer is 55 and Philbin is 50. If Ross' comment about looking for a young Don Shula is to be believed, then if McCoy impresses then he could be the Dolphins' coach for many years. If this is the case, it seems as though Ross is modeling his organization after the Steelers -- hire a young, qualified, aggressive coach and separate the responsibilites of the coach and the GM.
