to go out and sign all these big money free agents, how would the Fins re-sign Jake and Wake? Just asking. I don't think they could and they might not be able to sign both. If they let any one of those players go most of you would really be mad.

Lol he would have been fired a few seasons ago. He isn't as dumb as most think.

What FA are you talking about? Are you just telling us we can't sign every FA that hits the open market? lol

I think he's done good and bad. But is hasn't been here for the most of the bad. Just the most recent and I guess since he's here he gets the most of the blame.

I don't know why people complain about Ireland. Look how amazing our roster is. It is full of probowlers and playmakers. Ireland has never miss on draft day. He also is good at trying new things like drafting at center at 15. We're in great hands guys.,

Ozzy rules!!

Extending them would have freed up more FA money. Nice try, though.

I wanted him to resign (or be fired) last year, so yes, I wish he did what I wanted him to.

Funny, long makes too much and Wake doesnt make enough. And we have cap problems with a team that really doesnt have much talent or playmakers. Thats not a good Gm. At least the Bucs had the lowest cap last year with their 4-12 record. Whats our excuse????

i blame bush. its always bush thats been the problem. i mean, bush is arrogant and condescending. bush is always wanting something, gets it, then wants something more. never satisfied that bush. i always feel like i am being bushwhacked.

That's a valid point. We obviously overpaid for below average to average players (e.g., Vernon Carey) and are now paying the price. I'm neither pro nor contra Ireland at this point and I'm willing to give him every chance with the new coach but the cap problems we have with no real superstar (and no expensive QB either) on the roster is a big fat minus on his GM resume.

First thought I had when Ross retained him after firing Sparano was that Ireland might be gone after the draft but until that we would need his scouting insight he had already gained on all the draft prospects.

How is it that Miami has the least amount of blue-chip players on their roster and the least amount of salary cap space as well in their division? Miami had to trade away a 1,000 yard WR and the leading tackler to get to $6 million under the cap to sign draft picks.

That is the biggest reason Miami didn't sign Flynn. Whereas Seattle could sign him to almost $9 million per year and still be $18 million under the cap, Miami would have had to cut players and/or restructure contracts to offer him a "fair" value.

Only an idiot for a GM would sign a nickel CB to a $5.33 million per year contract and then offer almost a given starter at QB $4 million per year.

And since when has Ireland actually signed Long and Wake to future contracts? HE HASN'T...they may be playing for another team next year. Give him credit after he earns it.

The part that gets me is this:

Some of the same people that have disdain for Parcells, will gladly continue to give chance after chance to his hand-picked GM. :idk:

When will the lunacy end?

I find that quite ironic myself. Jeff Ireland is no different than Parcells. Same outdated philosophy.
