If Julius Thomas gets Released

I've never been a Julius Thomas fan, and I've taken a lot of flack for it when he was doing so well in Denver. But, the fact is that Adam Gase got tremendous production out of him, and we desperately need a TE.

The guy has talent ... but he's not a star in my eyes. Typical Gase figuring out a way to maximize his talent. Typical Jaguars to try to use him differently than his talent. Injuries and attitude are major concerns for me, and he definitely wouldn't be my first choice ... but I suspect he is on our radar.

Seattle may have to cut Jimmy Graham, which means we could trade for him for much less than one would expect. To me, that's too good to be true. Yes, Graham has injury issues, but that's a gamble I'd definitely take.
 
Thomas has been oft injured as well. so its pick your poison with him and graham as far as injuries go
 
We need a pass catching TE desperately, it would take this O to the next level. But we need one who gives a ****

Gase may not like him. Everything I hear makes me wary about Julius Thomas. Peyton Manning's skill helped to make him successful.
However, Julius Thomas is probably better than Dallas Thomas (who just got picked up by the Eagles).
 
Don't underestimate the value of a guy like Levine Toilolo either. I know he isn't the fastest TE out there but at 6'8" 265 he's a bit of a target lol.
 
I'm not sure about attitude, but I do know that Thomas went absolutely ape**** in Denver the two years Gase was the OC in Denver.

it's a discussion at the right price.

He gets limited opportunities and he's absolutely huge. Watching the Falcons the other night, I had a similar thought that he could be a match up nightmare.
 
As I mentioned in the free agency thread, I have read that of the free agent TEs Gase has worked with, strong preference for Bennett.
 
I care nothing for Julius Thomas, if Jared Odrick becomes available I willing to spend a 5th - 7th for our old friend.

Yea but there was a major falling out in Chicago revolving around Bennett, Gase and the FO if I am not mistaken. To the effect that he complained so much about contract it became a distraction and turned off a few people, including Gase.

I know AG praised his ability as a complete TE and he would prefer a guy like Marty from a skill set standpoint.

As for JT, this clearly would be a Gase call and for much cheaper than what Jville gave him.
 
Didnt gase and fox have problems with bennett?
 
We should not invest money on a high risk player when Sims is available. Coach Gase wants an all around TE, and Sims fits that description. There are better places to spend the Cap.
