IF Miami goes WR Rd. 1

If WR is drafted in round 1 it will be Odell JR a big stud WR that we are sorely lacking from LSU. Thats if no one is left on the board and we cant trade down.

Getting suspended for academic purposes doesn't equal baggage.

He didn't have his playing time cut at all, the next week at Wake Forrest he lined up next to Watkins play 1...

Damn media.. that's what I get for listening to them lol.. touché

I should have mentioned Evans has a very large catch radius...you can throw that ball head high or arms extended high and he will come down with it...you do him a favor though if you play him zone on underneath routes...you gotta run hip to hip with that and frustrate him which he will show if things aren't going well...he cries for calls at an nba level

just read this post. Must have missed it.. you can see him crying for calls in the Duke game. But in that game e has some downright nasty blocks.. That's the reason why I love him. There's nothing corners hate more than trying to fight off a stalk block from a monster like Mike Evans. Watch what happens when he gets pissed and takes it out on corners in the running game in this video at 8:17 and 8:59......

God I love that ^

two of my favorite things in football. receivers that block, and corners that tackle.

Lost cause how? What if he trades Hartline/Wallace? Even though a few here don't like Omar he did bring up a good suggestion, draft players who are going to push other players. A WR like Marqise Lee/OBJ is going to push and battle Wallace/Hartline, who the new GM might not have a plan for in the future, in training camp. Also depends on what you define as a "need". We "need" a physical type of receiver that is a.going to catch the ball anywhere its thrown and or b. be a deep threat.

A QB in the 1st would be absurd but could you imagine Manziel/Tannehill or Tannehill/Bridgewater battle it out in training camp? It would either push Tannehill to his limits or allow the better QB to win the job. Remember this is Hickey's first run as a GM; what you and I see as a need may be an afterthought to Dennis.

Yes, it would be absolutely absurd.....

Just like taking a receiver when you do not need a receiver. People can say what they will about Hartline, but the kid ALWAYS comes to play and is consistently making great catches for us when we need it. Not sure why you want to upgrade a group that is pretty damn good when we have bonobo feces at other positions :idk:

I don't care what Hickey does but with the receiver position you need to think ahead because they typically take time to develop, and thinking ahead to next season we may very well need at least one more WR. And if Wallace and Hartline both happen to turn into beasts and play their way into their giant contracts then you still can't have too many top receivers.

I agree with you here, but why in the world would you take a 2 year developmental guy in the first round of THIS year when you can get a guy that could contribute to winning today? ie Olineman, Tightend, Linebacker

Grab an undrafted guy and next year draft 1 high... The Patriots hit on undrafted developmental receivers all the time. It's not like the kid will get much playing time behind 4 other good receivers....

I think the guy that's missing from that list is Jarvis Landry...I don't much care if he's a 4.6 guy...

This thread was a treat to read when I popped open the forum today. :)

I thought it was interesting the points that Evans cries for flags, but also that he blocks with anger afterward. Personally, I love that.

Give me intense players any day of the week, as long as they aren't out of control.

I saw something today from Corey Chavous I think he does the draft nasty thing...anyways he said shazier is late on misdirection and off tackle and i couldn't agree more...I can't tell you how many times the weak side lb was late off tackle for us in 2013 and while we didn't see a lot of misdirection he was lost when we did
