If released, I think Saban brings in Rohan Davey.

Davey hasn't really impressed in any of their games that he's been in, has he? Preseason or other wise.

He's got a pretty good resume comming out of the gates and no one really knows him better than Saban. He hasn't impressed in the NFL thus far but that's why I said project.

IMO Davey will have better luck in a Linehan offense than a Weis/Brady/Belichick one.

WE DON'T NEED ANY MORE DAMN PROJECTS IN MIAMI!!!!!

My lord people, enough with the striving for 2nd or 3rd tier talent.

Get used to it slick.

Unless of course we make a trade for Peyton or Daunte.

If Cassell beats Davey, I'd be a little worried that Davey isn't very good.

Who do we drop if we get Davey though. I like Berlin and would like to keep him around on the P.S. Feeley doesn't have trade value. I don't want to lose Sage either after the preseason he's having in this new offense.

a project a 27, going on 28 next season?

a project would be Berlin, who already knows this offense.

I posted this about Davey in the VIP section a few days ago about him possibly getting cut, but Saban wont just cut guys to sign him.

both Sage and Brock have played pretty well so far, and they already know the PB pretty well, so why would you bring in a QB that would have to learn a whole new offense?

Yeah, Rohan has a good arm, but he is VERY inconsistent accuracy wise. Saban may bring him in, but he is not a project by any means.

No you don't have to get use to it "slick". Drafting a rookie who has a chance to learn and then step in, as opposed to these countless bums who have done nothing, and show nothing, that many of you people want to bring in...is a big difference.

Name one bum from another team we have brought in and he worked out to be anything!!

WTF is this supposed to say? This is the most poorly written statement I have ever seen made on this board.. Worse than dominizzo in fact, but your a bills fan so it is truley to be expected.

Yes I've heard of Gus Frerotte and I know he'll start. And yes my post on Josh Reed was completely sarcastic. Maybe I'm reading your posts wrong but I sense that you think that their are some players who played for Saban who are backups on other teams and potentially could be released and they'll be brought in here and be successful. I know Davey wouldn't start right now. I'm thinking Miami should just draft a QB next year instead of trading for other teams backups, rejects yada yada yada.

Trading for? Who said anything about trading for?

Yea, I didn't realize he was that old... Looking at it from a "who would we cut" standpoint rings true as well because of Sages and Brock performance up to this point.. I don't know, I figured I'd throw it out there is all.

I wasn't ribbing you, because it crossed my mind the second I saw the Pats fans talking about it on their ESPN board last week, but then after seeing both Sage's and Brock's performances this past weekend, I dont think Nick will turn his back on our guys for somebody that would have to learn a new offense, and has honestly not shown anything more than they have.

chauncey billups was once a reject on 3 different teams before getting it together for detroit. sometimes a coach can make a difference. i know chauncey credit brown w/ a lot of his success. it happens all the time where players who are crappy for one team come to another team and do good. saban is familiar and has success w/ both players in the past so it wouldn't be that crazy to take a look at them. berlin has had a few good games against guys who won't even make the team. feeley probably couldn't even hold davey's jock strap.

I think Cassell in NE will win the 3rd spot for QBs so that leaves no room for Davey. Just a gut feeling I guess. One of our QB's will have to be released though but eh who knows..Davey has not looked good in preseason thus far but I;m guessing Saban would bring out the best in him.

While Rohan fits in the Linehan mold of QBs and he shows some promise, do we really need another 3rd string QB ?? I just don't see the sense unless, unless...Saban gives up on Sage and Berlin...Feeley won't be cut this year if he doesn't supplant Ferrotte, I think, due to cap reasons.

Why? This is NOT the same system Nick ran at LSU. Different OC with different brand of football. Davies would have a MAjor learning curve. Now find a young QB that worked with Linehan in the past and you might just have something.

Amen to that. That's exactly what I thought when I first saw this post. :shakeno:

Face it - we're stuck with what we're stuck with at QB for this season at least. Bringing in another sub-par QB won't do anything to change that! Heck, Davey wasn't really even that great at LSU! Ugggh!!!!

It's not about the system it's about the repore that they have between each other.

Obviously there would be a learining curve but IMO the Linehan system is well suited to Davey - Physically Big and Strong armed/mobile QB.
