If the Dolphins solve the tackle positions in the offseason, will that be enough?

Gibson was on pace for about 800 yards too.

Add Clay at 700. Oh yea, we really do need better WRs. Maybe a guy that can "go up and get a pass." Right? Haha. WRs are locked in for a couple of years.

Im drafting one tackle, two gaurds. two gaurds would be steen and linder. one tackle early, and get a vet FA at LT.

You better improve the guards, thats why tannehill doesn't have a pocket to rely on and step through

Needs two OT's and at least 1 guard. Also ned a TE and a big RB on offense. On defense we need at least a couple of LB's, a safety and posbly a corner since Patterson is always hurt.

Ozzy rules!!

Yep...he can't step up in the pocket cause the pocket is being pushed back from the middle and pinched from the tackles. I've been saying it all year, the guy is throwing out of a phone booth.

Most people seem to think that we need to completely rebuild the line in the offseason, that means 4 players - 2 Ts and 2 Gs. That is a tough road to hoe.

Would it be possible to focus on the tackles this offseason and roll with the interior line of Brenner/Pouncey/Jerry with Garner as a key backup? By solving the Tackle positions, would that also improve the interior line just enough to be effective next season?

I don't think so. I think we also need a DT that can fill gaps to stop the run (Soliali is not that kind of player anymore). We need a RB that runs with power and a LB that play in Wheeler's spot.

I'd like to see what Yeatman could do at either ORT or one of the Guard spots. Unless I'm on serious drugs, he seems ideal for the ZBS.

Miami offensive line woes go beyond the tackles, it is all about the scheme itself. Miami employs the zone blocking scheme but only one player actually fits that mode-Mike Pouncey. So it is a round hole-square pegs situation. You want to see a real ZBS, look at Kansas City and the Redskins. It is a thing of beauty to watch. The tackles and guards are so quick on their feet they look so unstoppable. Look at what happened when Miami added Sam Brenner to the lineup-the running game improves well until they ran into Buffalo. I think it is more about the guards than the tackles. If Miami are going to stick with the ZBS, they would need at least two really good OG- system fit guards of course. John Jerry is not a system fit guy, remember he almost didn't make the team last year but since Miami GM is so bad at drafting OL he sticks around for two more years. I believe this team will really turn it around if and only if they could get a couple more of good system fit OL. That would improve the running game which in turn means a balanced offense. I think our rbs are good enough.
this !!! and I wonder about the possibility to add a great center and moving pouncey to G , Brenner is a nice player but we need to draft 2 great O lineman and sign the best FA, then this team really could be scary, resign Keller and Gibson healthy.

Even though I think fixing the O-line makes this team worlds better, I also agree that we do need a NT that can take up space, control the line, and make it very tough for RBs to get positive yardage through the middle.

A reliable short yardage back would make this offense very tough to get off the field. Where is Polite, and can he still be counted on?

Finally, Wheeler and his overrated 100+ tackles need to sit and allow someone that can actually make tackles at or around the LOS, not 5 yards later.

It's awkward watching all of these threads that ask if we improve one position group will we finally be good? The Buffalo game sure seems to have shook a lot of people's confidence. The fact of the matter is that we will need to replace about half our roster, several coaches, and our General Manager before we have a chance of becoming great. Greatness requires dominance and this current roster is simply not capable of being dominant.

We need 3 positions in the line. Two tackles, one guard and it wouldn't hurt to have a blocking TE. I love Clay as a receiving TE. He has improved huge this year, and another offseason he will only get better. I loved the idea of a deal with Albert last offseason, but I don't see him leaving KC now. If we could get him this offseason I would say two guards in the draft. The RB position needs to addressed. We have two change of pace backs. Neither is a 20 carry a game back.
