If the Dolphins wanted to move on from Tua Tagovailoa, there are not many options

Might as well get used to Tua going forward because his extension is forthcoming. Read them and weep

it would be funny if we win a Superbowl with Tua and hundreds of FH posters file a claim for thier $1000. Could cost him a fortune. 🤣.
All of us who have accepted that Tua is a natural choker would love nothing more than being wrong, but the chances of the Dolphins winning a SB witb Tua are almost 0%. Unless the dolphins are handed a spot in the SB without playing a Regular season and the oppnent are the 2023 Denver Broncos.

Ross and Grier are stupid enough that they will extend Tua. I’m willing to bet anyone $1000 that Tua will never lead us to a Superbowl. All you Tua fans, put your money up! Tua is pure trash in critical moments.
Wow what a brave bet. Dan Marino never led his team to a Super Bowl win. Josh Allen hasn’t led his team to a Super Bowl win. Lamar Jackson hasn’t led his team to a Super Bowl win. Countless QB’s are in this boat. Only a fool would take that bet for a plethora of QB’s Tua included. Winning the Super Bowl is ****ing hard.

They will need to win a playoff game next year or the whole group might be gone.
Well they will saddle us with Tua long term especially if you believe all 3 will be gone if we don’t win a playoff game. Tua playing under the 5th year option is a disaster for our 2024 salary cap. If McDaniel and Grier are truly gone without a playoff win they aren’t gonna give 2 shits about beyond that. They will extend Tua so they can sign free agents and try to survive.

For sake of argument, I think it would have to be a draft pick. Nix, Penix or McCarthy could be in Miami's range.

Of the three, I like McCarthy upside the most. He definitely has exciting athletic ability.

Of course, all three could be misses. At least Miami knows that Tua is good. Is he good enough? That's the question.

I would just run it back another year with Tua on his 5th year option.

Try to maneuver the salary cap to open up another year of this window.

If we get the same results or worse next year then what would be the point to signing Tua to a long term deal? We would have obviously reached our ceiling.

I would then just start over in 2025 and tear it down.

Tua is not playing on his 5th year option without an extension. I keep seeing this argument.

Tua will happily sit out the min games to accrue a season. Dolphins are negotiating $23M guaranteed vs the generational wealth he will make on a 5 year contract.

Tua was the 28th highest paid QB on 2023. He fired his agent last off season when he got hard balled and is coming for Ross’ money this offseason imo.

At this point I would give Skyler a chance. If we tank w eget a good draft slot. I mean at least Skyler has a better arm.
He does have a better arm but I don't trust his mental game either. Seems to lack awareness at times. Still he very well could be ascending so it's worth a shot if he has to come in to back up anyone but Tua.
