He will to some extent but it won’t be as bad because Lawrence has the physical traits. That’s just how sports work. The physicality gifted get more rope.

Yeah that’s exactly what I’m doing this offseason . If a ridiculous trade offer is on the table he’s gone. If there is no offer Tua becomes the first QB in the new middle class, where he belongs.

Peyton manning could make every throw and was only limited by his mobility, which he made up for with his football iq. The main difference for me here is that peyton actually looked like he cared when he played like shyt. Tua is mentally weak, cant handle adversity, not a leader of men.

IMO, Tua is not worth a big contract, so trading him would allow the team to use the money that Tua would have received for improving the roster. With a strong o-line, running game, and defense, a team could win games with a QB like Howell, as he looks to be able to handle pressure better than Tua. Sure, he's no Allen or Mahomes, but he looks decent in this highlight video in an article on the NFL website.

Such a trash take. Yeah the guy has the highest rating in college history along with leading the league in passer rating last year yet can’t process a defense. Casual lazy fan take. Go watch Kurt Warners breakdown, McDaniel is a far bigger problem than Tua. Play designs and calls are awful at times.

Would be figured out by week 12 and McDaniel would continue to call the same **** every play praying it would work rather than adjust.

So, when under pressure (which is a given with Miami's inability to build a strong o-line), you'd rather see Tua getting sacked than a stronger, more mobile QB who can escape and make a play?

I also believe that McDaniel is a bigger problem than Tua, but I'd still prefer a bigger, stronger QB.

Na. Grier isn't going to admit he screwed up the rebuild. His choices are continue to pretend Tua is the guy and keep his job, or admit a massive mistake and lose his job.
 
short of trading up for a QB, the most realistic and cost effective option is to trade for Justin Fields. Send Tua packing to the one of 5 teams that would want him and free up that 23m. From there we move X and just like that we are about under the cap.

Fields might not be the passer that Tua is, but he has a lot that Tua does not have like size, strength, legs, big arm. If McDaniel is truly a genius then let him develop Fields and give us a QB that hasn’t reached his ceiling yet.
 
At this point, i rather start over with a new QB even if it means we go backwards. I seen enough in Tua to know that he can't elevate his game any further. His best months are from September-November, but when it comes to December, January games, he folds under pressure. His arm is shot by December and he panics way too much when it's crunch time. Lastly, you have to limit the play calls since we can't do any QB sneak or bootleg options since he can't be touch, otherwise he can get hurt rather easily.

The last bunch of games michigan leaned on run game tho and which he didn't generally pass much or many yards. Even college qbs who end up just being decent starters in the nfl, usually pass more yards or more a focus in the college team's offense
